sometimes you need to play more aggressively, and sometimes tighter

I heard a saying from a poker pro that really impressed me: poker isn't a sprint, it's a marathon.

I prefer to play correctly. Patiently when necessary, and aggressively when the situation calls for it.

A tight-aggressive style of play will suit you. But there's one reality: when you don't get any hole cards to play for a long time, no style will save you from losing. 🤣

I think it comes down to the player's profile: some tend to play more passively—people who are more conservative, patient, or perhaps insecure—while the aggressive style comes from those who are more high-energy, bold, or confident they’re making the right move. Every scenario and situation also has its own "most profitable" way to act; for instance, if you're trying to set a trap, you can't be too aggressive. That’s how I view the choice between playing aggressively and passively—it depends on the player's profile, the mindset for that day's grind, personal circumstances... It’s a mix of all those factors and the specific dynamics of the hand being played..

My playing style depends on the size of my stack relative to the big blind. If I have more than 40 big blinds, I tend to play a bit more aggressively. When I have fewer than that, I become more patient, but not overly passive. Once I'm below 20 big blinds, I usually wait for the right hand and then play it more aggressively.

I often play patiently and wait for a good hand, but if I see an active opponent who plays all hands, I can go for it with him.

I prefer a patient but aggressive style. I don't like forcing action with marginal hands just to stay involved, so I'm happy to wait for profitable spots. But once I decide to enter a pot, I prefer to play confidently and apply pressure rather than passively calling too often. For me, the best approach is combining discipline with selective aggression, because patience gets you into good situations, and aggression helps you maximize them.
