Anyone try to play poker while stoned?

I don’t think that’s a very good idea. 😅 Poker already requires a lot of concentration, patience, and decision-making, so I’d rather be fully focused when I play. Being under the influence can make it much harder to read situations objectively and stick to a strategy. Maybe it sounds fun for a casual home game, but if there’s real money involved, I’d definitely prefer to play with a clear head.

Correct me if im wrong, but was there not few poker pros who were notorious going high/drunk as a kite to events ( and still managing to do good, like wsop win).

Not still recommendable and results may wary.

If alcohol counts as a drug, then yes. I like drinking beer while I play; I get more aggressive and usually get better results.

Cannabis can make some people feel more relaxed, but that doesn’t necessarily mean better poker decisions. THC can also impair attention, short-term memory, reaction time, and judgment. So the “better reads” might sometimes be confidence rather than actual improvement.

We all behave differently when drunk. For some, alcohol is simply contraindicated. Some of us get drunk faster than others, and there's no need to be ashamed of it. Just know your limits and leave on time. Yes, I know it's easier said than done, and putting this idea into practice is nearly impossible, but in this matter, as in anything else, the key is effort.Combining alcohol and poker is fun. However, playing poker while half-drunk is not fun at all.

I prefer to play sober, especially live. I was sober every time I won a live tournament. However, in moderation and at the right moment, it can actually be beneficial—a drink or some cannabis. But everyone has a different relationship with drugs and situations; if you're an alcoholic, for example, you know you won't be able to have just one drink.

I've heard a lot of players say that, but I think it really depends on the person. For me, I'd rather play completely clear-headed because even if it feels like it improves focus, it can also affect judgment, reaction time, or decision-making without you noticing. I'd stick with whatever consistently gives you your best results over the long run.

Personally, I’ve noticed that I play better and seem to be more profitable when playing under the influence of marijuana. I feel more relaxed, patient, and focused, which helps me make better decisions at the table. Of course, I understand that everyone reacts differently, and what works for one player may not work for another.

Personally, I think there's a fine line between being relaxed and actually impairing your decision-making. Poker already requires a lot of concentration and discipline, so I prefer to play with a clear mind
