My Dad is 76 and my mum passed away recently, so he wants to learn poker as a new hobby that we can share together. I have shown him the basics sitting at the dinner table and he is doing fine but when moving on to online poker he finds it too fast & a bit confusing. Too be fair I started him off with my own account on Partypoker free games, (which isn`t exactly the best for beginners) and then Governor of poker online, which I thought he would find fun but it turns out to be as bad.
Does anyone know of a free practice poker game that is more relaxed and with a more patient playing style so folks like my Pa can enter the game at a more leisurely pace?

Just have him keep playing the free games as you call them or try one of the many online sites that offer freerolls( more than a dozen a day on ) ACR ). After a few sessions the pace probably wont feel hurried .

Absolutely ReplayPoker.com would be the best choice. It's totally free, and the games are generally quite passive. If you lose your whole bankroll you can instantly recharge with 2500 chips. If you play every day they give you free chips every day, kind of a loyalty bonus. Some of the games run faster, but it is free, so a missed hand or two costs nothing in the greater scheme. It's browser based so no download required.

And, looking at the member profiles, there are a lot of seniors playing.
