This guy is a BEAST! I can't believe it.... I was trying to find his early blog posts of when he first started the challenge but couldn't. What are everyone elses thoughts on this?

For those of you who don't know, a player on pokerstars turned his $5 bankroll into just over 100k in 10 months. I've also read other challenges he's done by turning $100 into 10 000 in 2 weeks.

I think he went busto with 20 buyins of 25c and it should have ended there instead of letting him rebuild with playmoney, wtf? (if this is the same edition of the challenge) Not taking anything away from his ability to grind alot and build bankroll fast, pretty incredible the results he has over so many tables... just think that shouldn't be able to bust and continue when the starting amount is specified - start with a little more to avoid that.

Yeah, $15 (or w/e it was) to $100k is much less impressive

I'm not sure where the sarcasm is directed there, heh. If it was towards me, I already praised his exploits, only questioned the ground rules of the challenge.

Sorry I came across pretty douchey there lol  I mean I'd definitely agree if it was a prop bet and there was money on it, but it was effectively a personal challenge/attempt to gain publicity which makes his 2nd/3rd attempts fine in my opinion

I think it's more impressive that he went bust and still managed to get the challenge done. If he went bust then reloaded then, yeah, not good. But he didn't. He accepted that the $5 was gone, and grinded his way up through freerolls. He only ever deposited $5 and turned it into $100000 so...challenge complete, surely?

Part of me really admires Boku. Part of me is pure jealous. Most of me thinks he is a glutton for punishment (and that he needs to get a new hobby).

Pretty sick achievement. And the fact he's completed similar challenges makes it all the more impressive..

I think Poker Stars let him start over with another $5? He was grinding the play money tables, and was going to sell the play chips.

However, Poker Stars discourages selling play money, and did not want a sponsored player doing it.

Ah I see! Kind of agree with d'wilius then - set the rules and stick to them.

I have it in my files as boku87 that he used to sit at a load of tables at a time, which means easily over 8 tables at once. I haven't followed him in over a year though. I believe I saw him sitting at the $250 and $500 1 table sit n gos if I remember properly(I see he is now a pokerstars pro from Germany, Thomas Boekhoff) . There was another more popular player at about this same time. He just got done cashing in this years wsop, so it was good to see his name up there. Don't know if Boku87 is as good as this darn player whose table name I cant remember. Geez, he was like one of the first players to hit $1,000,000 FPP's on pokerstars. Awww, Elky is the dude that might be a better player, or at least I saw that he cashed in this years WSOP.

yes boku87 played 50+ tables. he plays any multitable sng from 18man to 180 man (i think if they got bigger i'm sure he plays those too). he started the challenge with the clause that if he went broke he could rebuild with free rolls. but he was grinding playchips from the start with a plan to sell them if he went broke(not part of the clause). pokerstars didnt want him to sell the playchips so they gave him another $5. but this whole challenge as based on a "poker site's" offer of a free $5 bankroll an they will allow reloads so this challenge is within those rules. he also never actually lost the whole $5 on sngs but from playing limit cash games. oh and he plans on making a 100 tables video now he completed this challenge.
