What are the best ways to deal with this kinda reaction? I really need some legit answers..I find myself sometimes degrading players and feeling good about it at first then later on I feel so guilty(even though I know I'll never meet the person). I just need some good ideas to stop my random outbursts and a way to immediately say "GG" instead of "Wtf were you thinking dude?" Please any ideas will be helpful

I don't know; maybe you have turrets!

What's hard about saying "GG" rather than "Wtf were you thinking dude?"

I usually take a deeeeep breath, stand up and stretch a little bit. That really helps me NOT to act out impulsively.

Try different things: take your hands off the keyboard for a few moments. Look up at the ceiling and ex-hale. Just do your best to take a few seconds to collect yourself.

Self-mastery in poker is one of the hardest skills to develop.

One option is to say nothing. Just treat it like another hand of cards regardless of the outcome. Or at least that might be a picture you portray to your opponents. Feel free to kick the cat though. ( No animals were harmed in this post )

Multi-table! When you've 8 games on the go you dont even have time to react to being donked out with a raggy hand! lol.
The only time I react is when I only have one game going that i'm really concentrating on. They are the times it really aggravates to be playing against a clueless ldiot who has no place in the pot. How about starting a thread to name and shame the players who make you go 'WTF!!??'

Degrading players...WTF are you thinking dude!!!! Why would you mock a bad player? Do you want him to leave? Wouldn't you rather play with the idiots and take there money? So you lost a hand to one-so what. Next time don't you think you will be on the winning end? If you mock him and he leaves what have you gained?

As someone said - grow up, shut the chat off and play your game, make notes on the bad ones and then take advantage of them.

^^^^^^^Exactly...what...do you want them to actually learn how to play. First, review your play...alot of times if I get pissed about someones play, I look back and say...I probably should have folded. Maybe you're just pissed your play got you busted. Maybe not. either way, keep um playing like crap, and soon enough you will clean them out.

You cats are the worst thing about internet poker every time you lose a hand you bitch and whine that they are a "Donkey". If they won the hand maybe you should be cursing at yourself. A good player Knows when to lay it down even to a "DONK".

i dont degrade, well, i do it in a way that over the internet it may seem like praise.

If I get sucked out on like, ill have KK or something, they flat my huge 3 bet with 44 and spike a 4 and win with their usually mediocre stack of $25 or so, ill follow it up with...

"You're too good for me"

"You play like a champion"

"My skills are nothing compared to you sir"

ill usually get a TY or thanks or something, inside lols, and they continue playing at my table until I or another reg get their moniez.

Great way to handle taking a bad beat. Remember taking a bad beat is because someone got lucky. You got your money in good and someone sucked out. I go out of my way to encourage that type of play. We all know that eventually the luck runs out.

It depends on the player I guess... if they've been talking a big game and then make stupid plays then I'll say so, especially if they suck out on me :p

You do more harm to yourself than to the person you are trying to put down. Giving in to those kind of emotions can tilt the hell out of you.

I rarely chat when I play - but when I do it is always friendly.

Dakota I beg to differ.

Degrading is bad - but lightly pushing towards tilt is good. Maybe frowned upon but when it works - man it works. As long as you are mentally stable
enough to take some abuse and play your normal game it can be very profitable.
I just got in a bit of poker around midday. I planned to watch some 25c50c to learn but found at my stakes a table had a seat open with a large average
pot size.

I assume I missed some action but after a few hands the two main culprits and me are in the pot. its raised to 70c and called - now 3 way.
Flop Jh2s4s (or something very similar) 2 of one suit I know that.

Hero bets 50c with pocket eights. to see where I am
Player 1 raise to $2.2
Player 2 all in
Hero fold
Player 1 had J9 and takes the pot ($30ish)
Player 2 had 6s7s

The next few hands player 2 is raising every pot about 70c in an instant.
I realised he was close to the edge so I said something like
"Well thats what you get for playing silly billys and going all in on a 7high draw"

Then he loses it. Starts calling me fish this fish that and then the raises up $1.30 here $2.90 there pre flop.

I chuck in a few more innocent comments: "Snakes and ladder is a cheaper game" or "Are you Phil Ivey?"

He got me for a $15 pot at one point. but about an hour later he had $6 - probably the remainder of his bankroll (after buying in a few times more) and
I had $89.

See screen shot I took - I was very proud to have got to $89 when max buy in was $20.

Of course none of us are on the sucking out side of these bad beats (yeah right).
We've all sucked out and been the donk but we seem to forget all of those times. Instead we insult the player that we've all been from time to time. Whether it was when we first started playing poker or just some night we werent our best or we tilted.
If this behavior was acceptable then Mark Seif should of Went Off on "The Ice Man" Chuck Liddell last year at the wsop when he called a Reraise with 6 2 offsuit and caught Two Pair.
Kind of different when the Donks sitting right in front of you (Esspecially if he's the UFC's Former Light Heavyweight Champion).

Perhaps.

OP. The hardest thing to do after taking a bead beat is to leave the table.

But it also the most sensible. Dont try and play back to the donk in an effort to win chips.

Leave the game have a wash go stand outside etc etc.
