As I see it, a donkey is a Democrat and a fish is someone that gets hooked by the Democrats. In other words a Elephant is a fish until November, I hope.

For most people fish and donkey its the same. But i think donkeys are stupid people, they play with no brain (or alcohol). Sometimes beginners are called donkeys or fish. There are some sorts of fish, even stronger players can be called "fish", for instance TAGfish - the weak tight spezies...

big difference in my humble opinion. one is dangerous the other one is harmless.

a donkey is a complete idiot. he's there to build the pot and possibly get lucky all the while making u scream at ur monitor. any ace/suited cards are good for a re-raise or all in. no structure in their game.

a fish knows what to do. they just dont know how to go about doing it properly. fish mostly check and call so they're easy to spot and even easier to play against. when a fish re-raises u on the turn or the river u know its time to fold. they're an open book.

Perhaps it would help to think of the verbs instead of the frequently misused derogatory nouns.

To Donk: Put chips into a pot with little chance of winning but donk it by catching some unlikely cards.
Therefore DONK ~ to get lucky.

To Fish: Put chips into a pot chasing all the way to the river actively fishing to catch the unlikely cards that would win the pot.
Therefore FISH ~ to chase.


I agree with SlySwagga above as to danger and opportunity.

either one, either way....it's not a complement.

but i think if you don't have a name to distinguish you as a pro, you better not do anything donkish or fishy. hahahahahahahaha

Fish don't tilt you, they make you smirk.

Donkeys play bad in a way that tilts the average shark.

Donkeys can tilt fish and fish can tilt donkeys but sharks can't tilt donks because donks force the sharks to fold unless they hit the nuts.

I don't see much difference . Perhaps I or that or this .
