fish can be good

I love to be viewed as a fish at a table. Especially in live play. I have even gone as far as appearing shaking and nervious by shaking my hands when making a play. I have even made some bad calls to appear like a player who doesn't know what is going on. Once others at the table view you as a fish, it can be much easier to trap and extract maximum chips. However this only works for a short duration until the others realize that you might actually know what you are doing. Try it some time, it really does work.

I constantly get called a donk, and only once or twice a day a fish.
So I guess I come across as a donkfishdonk

Imo a fish is a new/inexperienced player. A donkey is a player who is/should be good, but acts like a fish, maybe in a certain hand or game.

A fish is a inexperienced novice player, almost playing there hands face up.

A donkey is a more knowlegable player, playing hands incorrectly with regards to strengths, odds, position etc.

Quick comment though, a lot of people called donks at lower levels are in fact better players exploiting the ABC poker played by their opponents.

And a lot of donks think they are those better players. :D

A fish, with AK, will call the missed flop down to the river, hoping to spike the A or K.

A donk, with AK, will bet the missed flop and turn and maybe the river, firmly convinced he has the best hand.

Both will disregard raises and reraises. Neither has found the fold button.

same thing no difference here

they are just donks looking for a winning hand with out using a poker strategy, its definitely crappy, but it does happen. I think all of us have done it once or twice. "its just poker"

well... a fish has scales and gills? and a donkey has a tail of hair and hooves? you never got the toy you spin and whatever animal it lands on it makes that sound when you were little? ;)

THE COW GOES MOOOOOOOOO!!!

seriously tho in my classifications
fish= all around bad player... including being meak at the table
donkey= not all that meak.. going allin enough so your not sure if he has caught a good hand or not. this assumes he hasnt donked out early.

A fish would rather call and lose than fold and not know. A donkey just throws chip around hoping to get lucky.

Also, which type of 'fish' are you referring to (I've got a list of a few different types of fish).

I haven't been called a fish or a donkey as of late, but then again at the stakes I play at, that's not saying very much.

I never thought about the differences between the two. Being insulted is being insulted any which way you slice it. But then again, I haven't too much of an insult connoisseur.

There's quite a few actually.... but to narrow it to the most basic fish types we have
1) the aggro spew fish
2) Loose Callinstation/LoosePass Fish
3) Fit or Fold - Weak/Tight fish
