I think there are players from all three types, but anyone who plays with passion will never be a good player. I think most people play as hobbies, of course some people make a living from it, but that's very rare.

I think it is closer to passion and hobby and if the things go very good it can be a favorite hobby. I wouldn`t like to see it as a job with the form a job has these days.:bike:

For me, it's three at a time. A mixture of everything, it serves me as work, I am passionate about playing it, more if it has some statistic.

For a very long time I was convinced it was more passion than a hobby.

To me, poker is a hobby, but on any given day it can be any or all of those 3.

I think of it more like a part time job/hobby. If I could make it my full time job I think I would still want to balance it out with other work so that I don't get consumed by the monster of the swings.

Its both a mixture of passion and hobby. Once upon a time I hope to be a professional bowler and had qualified for the PBA. Unfortunately I got hurt and could not bowl competitively anymore. I also played a lot of competitive sports. My nature is being a very competitive person. Poker allows that part of me to continue as I get older but it is just a hobby.
