No it is not a sport. I will also say like I have said many many times before there is no luck in poker it is simply probabilities and odds. When your or your opponents card hits on the river it is just the percentage of times that that card or hand is going to win. You might say when a fish keeps hitting his 10% hands to win that he is lucky but that is just a small sample and in the long run it won't keep happening. IMHOMy answer would be 'No', as the factor of luck plays too much of a role. More often than not not the most talented player wins the prize but rather the luckiest one.
This is not a sportsman. Is poker a sport? No. Some will claim differently, but some people believe the wackiest shit.....
no i don't consider it a sport only because poker involves 60% skill and 40% luck.
Lol yes, I'm aware this is kind of a loaded question. There are multiple threads over at Chess.com mulling over the question whether Chess could be called a sport, each with thousands of posts, and the only conclusion ever reached was that certain folks can be very opinionated about the definition of words, regardless what dictionaries have to say about the matter.Tournament poker can be named a sport. The edge is very blurry, you know.![]()
