No reason to be embarrassed if caught bluffing...no reason to be embarrassed when you suck out and win on the river either. These are random occurrences that should even out over a long period.

Getting caught bluffing in poker tends to display somewhat more embarrassment when playing live poker versus online poker for most people.

I don't think I really feel embarrassed when caught bluffing though. It is simply part of the game and getting "caught" just alters my table image to something else I can adjust with; in this case, I might get more action later on etc.

bluffing

In Dan Harrington's book on texas holdem vol 1. He states when evaluating what an opponent has he assigns a 10% factor that the player is bluffing. He's does that because he said poker players bluff. He explains the best way to bluff so if you do get called out is to have 2 cards you can play with if needed.

One position he bluffs from is under the gun projecting a big hand. He uses suited connectors. once again something playable if called down. He recommends a bet of five times the big blind.. Check out his book it's on audible. I'm listening continuously to drive it in to my memory.

Stiff upper lip..

When my bluff is called, I try not to show any emotion. Same as when AA or KK are cracked. Shows weakness. Better to show a stiff upper lip, takingwins and losses with same emotion, the true poker face.

The bluff is part of the game ,, excellent to know how and when to get the greatest possible profit ,, it is an excellent weapon to take into account, since it is part of the game and if they catch us ,, it means that it was not the moment or The rival on duty knows us or the rival's luck ,,, clearly we should not feel ashamed by the fact that they catch us, they catch us all and life continues ,,, we must learn to do them well and in due course, not all are bad and in the long term they will be very profitable ,,, bluffing strategies ,, touch study them ,, luck with our bluff ,,,,,

If we associate that question with poker, I must say that bluffing is part of the game, and in particular I don't feel any shame at all, but I really enjoy when I catch bluffs, today in my session I marked some good bluffs with nothing. and get to third place in a 2.20 tournament. I eliminated KQ vs A6 preflop from. I caught a lot of bluffs that helped me a lot.:D
you have to lie in poker is part of the game and not feel ashamed.

I don't feel that way. It can go well or badly, but it is part of poker and it can help us when we know when to do it. We must not fall into the temptation and abuse the bluff since we can lose everything if a game is waiting for us.

no not at all.
It is a fundamental part of the game, it is an art, you have to use it, do not overdo it and much less be ashamed if it goes wrong.

I always feel a little embarrassed when I get caught bluffing. And it is weird since bluffing is part of the corner stone of poker.

Bluff is one of the most difficult skills in poker and it is good to master this skill, and when we are reckless, greedy or fall into the trap of a submarin player we are disappointed and defeated. It's a natural feeling in poker and we should always be prepared for it
Good luck:)

When I first started playing poker I did get embarrassed getting caught bluffing. But now that I've started playing on a regular basis I know that bluffing is part of the game and it's nothing to be embarrassed about, just learn from it.

Bluffing can be good or bad. On micro, and even more so in freerolls, people have absolutely no idea what board, what hands and why to bluff in general. I love to reveal these masters of bluffs with VPIP 80+)

Its good to be caught sometime. It will change your table image to players you play all the time. Keep up the good work and never stop bluffing its one of the fun things about poker!!!

Couldn't agree with you any more. I think that bluffing is a key tool to be used in poker. Knowing when and how to bluff is always a good start. If your caught just try to replay the hand in your head to see if your bluff made sense for you to have a hand you were representing. That is one thing that must people that try and bluff don't understand I feel. Another thing is to know who you are attempting to bluff. Don't bluff someone who seems to call you all the way down. I feel you have to know what type of player you are in order to pull off a good bluff. If your a player that calls when you have a draw or are you the type of player who would raise with a draw? You also have to try and figure out how strong your opponent's hand is that you are going to attempt to bluff is. At least this is what I try to do when I'm making a bluff.

I don't see why, it's part of the game, if you lose on a bluff on another hand they may think you're bluffing and end up being surprised.

I used to feel embarrassed when getting called on a bluff playing at a live table. I never have felt embarrassed playing online though. I don't get embarrassed anymore because I know it is a part of the game and everyone is going to try a bluff from time to time. If anything anymore when playing online, or in a live game, I will just feel like an idiot when I get called bluffing because I realize after the fact that it was not the time to bluff. I was bluffing a player that I should have known wasn't going to fold no matter what, or I was trying to bluff someone that had a really strong hand and they never thought about folding to my bologna! Bluff away we all do it some more than others. What I do really enjoy is calling on someone that is bluffing. That really puts a smile on my face!
