Do you have any rituals before playing (coffee, music, luck, etc.)?

I usually try to step away from the computer an hour before a gaming session and just let my brain clear its head. During this time, I often take a walk, do some back exercises, fill a bottle with water (because I drink a lot when I'm nervous, lol), and brew some hot, delicious tea in a thermos.

I don’t really have a pre-game routine yet — most of the time I can only play late at night. But I’d like to become more intentional before sitting down to play. Lately, I’ve been trying a short 10-minute routine:

  1. Drink some water & stretch a bit
  2. Take 3 deep breaths and focus on one good decision at a time
  3. Turn off distractions (phone silent, max 2 tables), and review 1–2 hands as a warm-up
It’s short and simple, but already helps me focus much better.

No rituals before the game. No special preparations. I just sit and play . If I need sth I usually find it in my refrigerator ))))

yes i try to relax before a big tournament , eat something and have veggies available.

Of course I have a ritual! I always check the power outage schedule before each tournament so that I can turn off my computer and continue playing the tournament on my smartphone. So you understand the difficulties Ukrainian players face every day.

I have a ritual. 1 step-check the e mail. Second step- facebook. 3 step CardsChat. 4 step PokerStars.

Make myself a coffee, and a brand new pack of luckies, then we can roll

For me, yes, absolutely.
Before starting a session, I like to clear my mind and focus. In general, I have coffee, put on soft music in the background, and take a few minutes to breathe and visualize my goals for the session.
No distractions, no rush, just focus.
It helps me stay calm, patient, and ready for any unexpected situation.
Some players believe in lucky charms or specific rituals... for me, the key is to have the right mindset before the first hand is even dealt.

A few months ago it was vaping weed before sessions and sometimes in between breaks. Nowadays my only "ritual" is music. And exercicing but this i do anyway, Poker or not.

0.3 in the volcano, 20.0 in the espresso machine, of you know you know

Yeah, I definitely like having a little pre-session routine, it helps get me in the right mindset.
Nothing superstitious, just small things that set the tone.

I usually like to get settled with a cup of coffee and some music to focus before playing. In Card Rummy, having a small routine like that helps me concentrate, plan my moves better, and enjoy the game while trying to earn rewards.

Need my cup of tea with me always. And a good playlist and charged headset. For serious grinding I prefer wide screen display. I guess his is more of a setup than ritual. And the key factor is a good sleep on the previous night.

Pre game rituals can be a great way to get mentally prepared and centered before a session. When they help create focus and calm without becoming something you depend on, they support consistency and confidence. The key is using them as a tool rather than a necessity so you can still perform well even when conditions are not perfect.

No pre-game rituals. I'll often have coffee while playing online, but I don't have it every time. I also try to get a good night of sleep before playing, but I also don't always do that either. I'm always ready to play 😀

I usually sleep and eat before a poker session.
After finishing the session I use to go outside for a walk or gym

I don't have a ritual, but I like to have all my problems resolved before I start playing so they don't affect my game.
