I do have some poker skill. Been playing a long time and have learned a lot reading and listening to some good players. I don't always win but I do do ok.

I know I've got "something" with poker, but I don't know if I'd use the word "skill"

Motivation? Determination? Willing to improve? Perhaps something like these fits more accurately

Me ranking my poker "skill"... I don't know. 7? Maybe an 8? Might just be the Dunning Kruger Effect talking, but I humble to realize I'm no "10" like Phil Ivey, or Chris Ferguson (or any high stakes pro for that matter). I'm also no "1" fish at the tables either though (although it reasons to stand I might very well be a fishy "1" if at a table of "10"s or "9"s etc.) Luckily, with table selection, that should seldom happen

Results I've achieved with help [of poker "skill"]? I've had good success with cardschat freerolls and League games, but I've not yet tried live poker in a casino yet (wanted to try, but then covid-19 pandemic put that on hold for now). I'm curious to put my "skills" to the test to see how they hold up

How do I plan to improve my poker [skill]? This one I can answer! Keep reading poker books. Keep playing strong competition in our cardschat events. Keep studying the game away from the table (HUD stats, poker calculators, solvers etc.) and so on

True; I feel like most cardschat members have more "skills" than the average recreational player. If you are willing to participate in a poker forum community, then you are probably willing to study the game and this means cardschat members are likely (on average) better players than those who are not!

+1 Yes! Day to day progress is sometimes tough to see the little changes, but they add up over time and for sure the daily freerolls on cardschat are nice

I took the first places in cardchat twice. From books I read the hands of poker champions and see how they think in the hands. I am also reading now John Kehoe "The subconscious mind can do everything." I understood one thing, whether you play poker or do something else, the mood and self-hypnosis are always important - self-confidence!

I have been playing for over 20 years, and still play low stake games, there is nothing to be ashamed about playing beginner levels or low stake games, if you are comfortable making your bankroll grow, and winning enough money to make Poker pay for itself, then you are an accomplished player already.
As the saying goes, "You can learn how to play Poker in 5 minutes, but it will take a Lifetime to master" and there is a whole lot of truth in that. Even Doyle Brunson admits he is still learning new tricks from the younger players.
The Cardschat course is a great way to improve your skills, I have followed it not just once, but several times and I still revisit chapters when I feel I need to. Book's I have bought or have been given, still sit on my bedside table and I will read them before I go to sleep, so the information sinks in, and these I have read cover to cover, over and over again.
The best way to learn Poker is to Play Poker, and as long as you are showing a profit, and your bankroll is growing, then you are playing right.
Keep doing what you are doing, and play for the love of the game, Play for what you get from the game, not for what money you can make, as that comes and goes.

My own rating for poker is 3 out of 10. I play pretty poorly, predictably and win if I play with players who are weaker than me. But I have something to strive for and what to learn)))

I have experience playing live poker. The first time I was in the poker club it was very exciting and unusual. I really liked it even though I won a little money.

Every poker player has some skills. It's not good if he doesn't recognize them. If he overestimates them then it is disastrous.

I can say that I have some poker skills. Playing poker is my hobby. When I was a child, I played Governor of Poker. It was one of my favorite video games. I learned and developed my basic skills in that video game. When I grew up, I wanted to try something more serious and play at online casinos. It was a completely different thing. The difference between playing with artificial intelligence and against a real person is enormous. First of all, it is more interesting, because different people have different strategies and I like learning them.

I don't have really but i don't know if there s even a skills in poker if you know how to play you will play if you don t you can not play it s simple as that.
