I've been using the Responsible Gaming Tool even with very small limits, such as $10 a day or $50 a month. I think this prevents me from making stupid choices.
I have never made a single deposit in the 20 years I have been playing, so Responsible Gaming Tools are not needed, but they are a great way to help if you have no self control over your emotions. It's way too easy to use a Credit card and make deposit after deposit, just because it's not real cash you are playing with.
Building a Bankroll from
freerolls and then moving into buy-in games is really hard work, but well worth the effort, and that makes the games more fun, because you are playing with other players money, and for every player that uses this approach there are Thousands of players who think they are going to hit it big and become rich after that one big win.
Fairy Tales are for the story books. Yes! You do get the odd winner now and again, but I generally don't mind being a slow player, I feel I have nothing left to prove, or nowhere left to go.
Been there! Done that! Got the T-Shirt to prove it.
