do you play as much as you use too

due to the economy i play less now on money table and online.is there any1 else in the same situation.

My IRA & stock market funds lost ~25% in 2008. My poker account increased by 12000% (yes, that's the right number of zeros) in 2008. So um, yeah. I'm still playing cards just as much, if not more than I used to.

I'm playing about the same online as I used to (which granted isn't anywhere near as much as some people on here).

Live is a different story though. I've played a few home games and that's about it, where normally I'd be playing in the casino at least once a month.

Your comment leads me to believe that you have decreased the number of your deposits. If you are deposting regularly, then you are losing regularly would be my guess. The exception would be if you withdraw larger amounts and have to reload from time to time.

I can see where regular 'depositors' might have to cut back. Similar to C9 I have increased my online play. It has also increased my BR (but not near as high a % ) at the sites I play at - and have never made a deposit on any site.

GL with making a better ROI with your future deposits.

This is an interesting topic. I play an incredible amount less because of the economy. First, I don't play any online poker. In 08 I had over 100 cash game sessions at the local casino. Due to a few factors; a new poker room in a different area of the casino, and the economy I have really cut back because it is not as profitable. The casinos are struggling to the point where there are bankruptcy rumors. The average poker player has to be struggling as well.

I saw my bankroll grow over 400% this past year, and I have very poor BR management. I bought a motorcycle (which I crashed a month later, without insurance), strip clubs, partied, and used my poker money as all my fun money over the summer (teacher), and I just got back from Vegas which I paid for entirely by the BR (like I said, bad BR management). As 08 went on I went less and less to the casino because it became harder, less populated, fewer tourists, and overall less profitable.

I have played twice in 09. And it doesn't seem to be changing for the better. A year ago I could go to the card room and sit 2/5 and not have a single regular at the table. If I went tonight (which I thought about doing) it would be almost the exact opposite. The tables would consist of almost entirely regulars with the random tourist.

I have been struggling because of this. I want to play, and feel like a coward for not going to play like I used to. I feel that I am better than most of the regulars. I just don't want to grind it out the way I would have to. Its not worth it, and the game is not a good game. Session profits have been going down and I don't want want to risk the roll. Id rather wait for a better time.

I just got back from Vegas, there was a lot of talk about this subject. The regulars were saying that president's weekend was nice because the casinos were busy again. People just don't want to gamble anymore. On-line players have to be having a tough time too. Its hard enough to get money on those sites for the casual fish, it has to be harder to find dead money then ever.

Luckly my wife doesn't let me deposit, so I plat off of my meger freeroll winnings so I'm able to play as long as I'm able. The way my "luck" has been going, I so glad I've not invested any of our money into on-line gaming...had to say that last part, my wife was looking...

no i play the same.i dont like 2 play as much on line thow.i like live play

hehe unlucky bout that lyk. U shud tell her that its a sweet invesment. spesh if u can win from freerolls ur probs a decent player. try a MTT or SnG n watch ur banroll zoom!!

I seem to be playin more as the $ - £ is great now. If i win big ive got more money bk chance which is ^___^

playing more now due to the fact that i am unemployed, and can't find a job. more time to play, and i need the money.

i hope the economy turns around soon. i am not that good of a player to do this for a living. but all this extra time playing has improved my game over all.
