Do You Prefer Playing Poker Online, or Home Games/Casino (Live Poker)

Having played both, but probably more home games or Casino poker...I'm curious as to which everyone prefers. Do you see more "Loaded hands" online? Do you feel it's easier to expose someones strategy or tells online v. in-person?

I prefer to play online; my kids "play" poker as well, but they are realy; realy; REALY bad players (and mostly win); and my good friends that play poker well live a bit far to go and play for a evening (I've moved).

Online I don't have to hide my facial expresions, and I find it easyer to play. No calculating everything; just click 3bb and my preflop rase is always good. Just looking at the paterns at the table.

So for me it is online.

Online play is much easier for me. I can play from everywhere even through my phone when traveling and there is no need to try to hide my emotions. Also due to the good amount of freerolls i can play without risking any of my real money.

Having said that i also like to play home games with friends for low amount of money and for fun. Sitting on a poker table (albeit amateur one) and playing with real chips and cards takes the experience to a whole new level.

Regarding the casino - i would like to try that also in the future but here in Bulgaria casinos with poker rooms are relatively rare and usually attract relatively low but constant amount of good players who play at much higher stakes than i can afford. There is almost no fish on the tables of our casinos so playing there i can only loose my money. The exception are maybe some casinos in our sea resorts during summer when there is large amount of foreigner tourists and some of them play for the fun loosing money and maybe i will try to play in such situation but i definitely need to improve very seriously my game before trying live casino game here.

I play online poker and the cardschat home games, when I can use my laptop. A few times I play casino or blackjack.

I prefer the game online. Unfortunately, I have no opportunity to play poker live.
In addition, I spend most of my time on work so I have the opportunity to play online only in the evenings.

I prefer live poker because I am on vacation when I play at a casino, so I am more relaxed and enjoy the side conversations. I have met some really interesting people. I do not play with friends at home games because I would hate to take a friend's money...even small amounts feel strange.

Online poker is certainly fun, but that does not compare to a live poker, live poker is true I only played with friends, but it's much cooler online poker :burnout:

I prefer online poker, besides the fact that live poker has that another dimension where you can actually make a pretty much confident decision by looking other player’s reactions and analyzing their body talk. Live poker is even more interesting but i choose online poker, don’t know exactly way, maybe because i just want to sit in my chair and relax with a couple of games of poker or it might be just a habit.

I like the convenience of online, but I thoroughly enjoy playing live at a friendly local poker room, like Oxford Downs near The Villages in Florida. Bigger venues like Daytona Kennel Poker room and Tampa Hard Rock are not as much fun.

Problem with online is being able to deposit. I live in Indonesia, work in Papua New Guinea, and vacation in USA, so it is not easy. I need a site that accepts 3rd party wire transfers.

I play the most online, but it's fun to play live both with friends and at the casino. I experience when playing online, so it's often better hands for all players, almost never when playing live.

I only play poker online, but sometimes my friends come and we play poker at my house, but it's rare, all friends play more online, I do not have the opportunity to play live poker at the casino, it's normal for me when I I can play online anywhere with a tablet or laptop or phone!

For me live poker is way more enjoyable cause you can have a couple of laughs with some mates (or whoever is there on the table with you), online poker feels less "intimate". Although you can always play online poker with your own privacy/comfort which is definitely a pro. I guess the question here is quite situational depending on someones personality and availability and goals for poker.

I like them all. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.
I like homegames for the social aspect.
I like casino games so I can take money from strangers instead of my friends.
I play more online because it is so convenient and I can play multiple games at a time.

I tend to skew online but the play at live is quite bad and seems like less bad beats occur there then online. Also seeing the chips infront of you really gives you a sense of ownership and makes it hard to tilt. Tournaments I would prefer online. But cash I would prefer Live.

I prefer poker online, but live, everything is different, rarely with the game I play live mostly during winter, but I'm better on line, I do not play casino at all.

To me it depends. I like that I can play in anything at home, drink and do as I please. But playing with real people has a special feel that cannot be added to online. I would love to play a game that everyone is on with a web cam and you can have voice chat just as if at a casino. That way you know who is real and who is not.
