Cash poker or tournament poker?

I have been playing cash for years, and recently decided to start playing tournaments. I actually think I like tournament poker better. What is everyone else's opinions?

Depends if I have the time to grind out a tournament or not. I like the concept of big paydays with a tournament win. However, the beauty of the cash game is when you want to be done, you can be done. If you go busto, you can reload and stay longer.

When you start playing the tournament, you are tied to this game and cant finish it like in cash game, when you would like to do this. You must be ready to constantly adjust the game in a rapidly changing situation (players, blind levels, ante - which is not using in cash games) on the table when you play tournament. Worst of all /IMAO/ is to get used to play on the bubble when you short, :) you can forgot about it when you play cash!

players who grind 5-8+ hours a day at the cash table probably need to have a lot of time too ;)

Yes but they can end the session at any time. You can play the tournament for a few hours and stay in the bubble or min cash.. :)

I prefer tournaments over cash games, because they are way more intresting. There are many phases in the tournament and they should be played differently, while cash games are the same all the time. Maybe tournaments are more luck-based but they are also more intresting to play.

What I don't like in tournaments, is the much higher variance. You need a lot of luck to run deep or even win.

Final tables is quite aggressive 2. You willn't win much money in tournaments if you are afraid of harsh poker.

Tournaments for me are better than cash games, in tournaments, you get to concentrate on the full when tuning.

I play mostly the game cache, because I can leave at any time, and in the tournament I need to sit until the very end, it takes a long time

I in my opinion I prefer tournaments since the cash is what I lose fast I do not know what the error will be if I choose bad hands or I'm not lucky ... it is true that playing cash is something short term since the tournaments take more hours and only The first places are those that pay enough and the last ones just give us the entrance and that does not come to cover our expectations.

Tournament poker has gained popularity over time, and today it is a very promising kind of poker.
In addition, in the tournament - equal starting odds for all players.

That's why I prefer tournaments.

I like tournament better because I can just lose what I buy in for. Also you can win a lot more on tournaments than you can at cash I think.

I like both. Cash games are nice when you don't have enough time to play a tournament. But if I have time, Tournaments are another level, so much more fun, in my opinion, it really gives a exctiment when you get to finals and great profit as well.
My advice - Play tournaments, they're great.
Another free one, when it's a bounce tournament, it becames even more fun.

Tournaments are not like gambling imo while cash games are. In tournaments, you put in a fixed price so you really can't lose that much as you can with cash games and cash games seem wayyy too fleeting

There's nothing wrong with playing tournaments.

I don't hate tournaments at all, they are more enjoyable especially big ones as you kill people off with your smart bluffs and then smart calls of bluffs.

I just want you all to know that cash games reward smart players more because you can RECOVER from bad variance much FASTER.

Everyone will have a different opinion. Players who play tournaments can also say about cash-games. And vice versa. To whom that is more like. Some even play all the games.
