Do you see improvement in your game?

When I joined this site I was horrible I can admit it. I joined to get access to the Saturday freeroll for Canadians (at the time) several posts later and three try’s it became my first ever tournament win. That was about a year and a half ago. Since then I’ve won several tournaments and many final tables. Although I have never taken any money out I never have to put money down to play cash or tournaments. I remember my first cash 888 the bubble bursts and coins all over the screen. Trying to save up penny wins to get in a cash game would take a couple weeks. After two years of playing I know I still make some bad plays and should study more but when I try there seems to be a chart for every set of whole cards in every position first in second in fourth in short stacked 200 bb+ and my mind goes numb. In the last year I moved from putting money on my account and losing it $20-50 at a time to having $10-200 on without using my money. In this year
I want to get my roll over $500 and maybe even withdraw some. I’m the turtle in this race, but I do plan on winning. Any other two year vets care to share how they have managed?

I hadn't played for a long time, and when I started again, I started spending more time studying. Watching good players play on streams and analyzing the game. Started winning. So yes, I can see improvement, but it's still far from what I expect.

I've been playing poker for 11 years. I have been making money steadily for the last 4-5 years. But I have greatly increased my profits through my participation in our community and through our daily freerolls. I believe that our community is an ideal place for both beginners and experienced players.

Anyone I get into a good routine of study and practice I see marked improvements to my game.

There's something special that happens when we engage the process of repetition. The more we play the same game the more we start to recognize the key spots to focus on.

I love when I really start to get into the flow of knowing when to 3-bet with my blocker/semi bluff hands vs knowing when to just call or even when to fold

It's so satisfying once you start to develop reads on your opponents. And the more we study and gain new perspectives the more able we are to know what to look for for those reads!

Hello, I am new to poker and started playing not as long ago as you, but I also noticed an improvement and positive results when I joined this forum! I think that this forum has greatly influenced me, I found like-minded people and useful materials here, many people are responsive and give useful tips that help me a lot! Yes, my game has improved, but there is still a lot to learn. When I became seriously interested in poker, I joined this forum and started reading books. I haven't started playing for money yet, I'll try to collect a bankroll on freerolls here. Well, the next game will show if I have learned a lot during this time

Over the last year, I have managed to significantly improve my game. So far I do not earn enough, but nevertheless with each passing month my results are getting better. I am convinced that patience is the key to success in the long run, so be patient.

Played poker for a long time, covid put a halt to live play. Worked more on online game. Can easily beat some stakes/formats, struggle with others. Always been little better at online MTTs then cash. Definitely seeing less beats through a mistake on my part vs just getting sucked out on which to me is a key of progress.

Even just playing (without learning) anyone will improve their game, this is called self-learning, but only on this forum I learned how to analyze my game, there is a lot of useful information, tips, and just good people. Of course, my game has improved.

I fell like I improved my game last year and this year, but fir a couple months I stopped investing time in learning. Now I mostly spend time with poker playing the Cardshat freeroll on pokerstars and any small tournaments that occur on the same time.

That’s great that you only use the winnings to play for other tournaments or to play cash but yea it’s a grind to do it your way. I play more at my casino so online really doesn’t do it for me like live poker

There are different kinds of attitude of learning poker.

One is to play as a job, the other is to play as a game. Of course there are someone don't know they play for what.

I think the attitude decide what should learn.

I've been too tired mentally to realize this so sometimes I throw everything on the rag because I'm mentally tired,
I'm going to try some natural juices to see if it cheers me up because I believe that's it. So I move on.

My game has improved a lot

Good morning everyone, yes over the years, my game has improved, in my opinion the main reason is always watching how profitable players play on twitch, I learn a lot.
I used to complain about the way micro players play, as it is very difficult to read the hand they have and very likely they can have any two cards up to 72o, I usually get good results playing Mtts with more expensive buyns and Mtts micros was always being eliminated with bad bets, it turns out I was playing wrong, waiting for value and now I'm playing a lot more hands and I'm having good results in the micros.
What made me change my game?
I've watched a lot of players on twitch, but one player caught my attention because of the very different way of playing, he wins a lot of hands without a showdown and I'm using this strategy and I'm coming up a lot more often in FTs.
How many different ways to play poker are there?

That was a great revelation about joining this site. Had played on and off few about a year and enjoyed the game. Reading through some post and articles was eye opening! Lot of the finer points and terms were motivating to get to the next level.
