I wish there were a way to warn people, in a way that they would take to heart, about the real hazards of smoking. It literally destroys every part of your body.

Here in Canada they now require very noticeable warnings on the paper wrapper of each individual cigarette. The packages are adorned with gross pictures of diseased human organs that show the real effects of smoking. I think if I were to post some of those pictures here I'd probably be censored. They're that bad. But smokers just ignore them.

We have a friend who has smoked all her life. She's on meds and puffers because of it. Her gums are diseased and her teeth are falling out. But still she smokes. When we get together neither my wife or I will sit next to her because of the smell.

And, the cost to buy cigarettes is crazy, literally one dollar a cigarette.

I read and remember with horror how long I smoked and could not quit.... When two packs a day went, I realized that I had crossed the red line, and I started gathering motivation.... And when the realization of the full process comes, not fear, but cold reasoning, makes me quit this activity...Now smoking only in my dreams.... and then, less and less often )

yes, I roll 50/50 spliffs of medical grade and 100% tobacco (no additives) and take a puff or two and let it burn itself out. Which happens fast. I can do that many times with 1 roll. 1 Roll will last me most of the day.

I don’t smoke, but I do enjoy having a beer sometimes. It makes the game more fun, but I also notice that I tend to play a lot looser when I drink.

Unfortunately, I smoke, but I usually only smoke during my breaks. It's good that the break is only once an hour or I would smoke more often. Smoking has a negative impact on my concentration because I have been smoking for over 25 years and my lungs are not in the best condition. I cough, so I get distracted from the game.

Yes, I smoke during the game, and unfortunately not only during the game. I have been smoking for a long time and a lot. It's a bad habit that is very hard to get rid of. I envy people who don't smoke, they are obviously smarter than me.
As for the positive effect of smoking on concentration, this is absolute nonsense. There is nothing positive about smoking, just absolutely nothing.

I don't smoke, but I believe that it can greatly hinder a person's concentration, having to go out to smoke, in person, online, if the guy smokes while playing, I believe it doesn't bother.

I happily enjoy a nice single malt with a cigar whilst playing on a weekend.
I always have a roll hanging out of my mouth and I also am a heavy weed smoker, pretty much bong on the hour from the moment my eyes open until my eyes close.
I don't recommend this but it's the life I ended up in.
I'm happy and that's all that matters.

I never smoke in my daily life, but I understand that smoking can relieve stress a bit, which is important for keeping your mind in control while playing poker. Although I don't recommend smoking, I don’t see it as a negative in terms of concentration.
