In poker, any information will give an advantage, so it cannot be given for free! Only when you can provoke an opponent to tilt!

I've been mainly playing blitz these days and the hands go so fast I don't think there's even an option to show cards.

I never show my cards on PS, it's setup to never show and now that I think about it it's better like this. Because unlike PS on GGPoker I didn't setup to never show and sometimes I do. Everytime I show my cards later I regret it. It becomes a disavantage because you can play that same hand the exactly same way.

I think those who show their cards always have a plan that prepare to bluff in the future.

It is very seldom that I will show my cards if I am not involved in the showdown. I'm a believer in the "You have to pay if you want to see them." school of poker. An exception to that would be if I had a "spectacular" hand like four of a kind or a straight flush. I love seeing things like that and I'm guessing that other people do as well. Also, at the showdown, regardless of where I am I turn my cards over. Part of that is my belief that the other players have a right to see them at that point, the other is if I have made an error in calculating my hand the dealer will probably spot it.

Just a week or two ago I showed my cards to my single opponent because he asked me "If I fold will you show me your hand?" I forget if this followed my bet on the turn or on the river but I figured since I didn't have the nuts, this was his way of paying to see them. :) I've never seen anything like that before.

Online games with strangers I never show.
With friends I sometimes show the nuts or very strong hands with the intention to condition them thinking that everything I raise or bet is because I have something and not bluffing. Sometimes it works when stealing blinds.

Never show your cards. It is a sign of weakness in many cases.

very seldom.

if the button is constantly raising my blinds, i will 3 bet them and show them crap when they fold...the next time i do it, i will have a hand...probably..lol

if i get heads up in a tourney i will show a lot more often...to overload my oppos brain with useless data they cannot process.

I have always enjoyed using the "show cards" feature as a part of my strategy.

Since I'm typically a tighter player, I like to find spots where I'm weak, but where I also think my opponent is weak. If I can bet and get my opponent to fold, I'll show the table my cards, I'll show them the bluff. This helps me to erase any tight image I might have up until that point. And now that my image is more of a bluffer, hopefully I can immediately pick up a premium hand and be able to use my new image for additional profit.

Sadly, it seems the trend in online poker is for sites to eliminate our ability to show our cards. I know many poker coaches teach their students that they should never show their cards to their opponents, and for beginner players, I completely agree with that advice. The problem is, for advanced players, I totally DISAGREE with that advice, I believe showing your cards with strategic intent is a profitable decision, and for the poker sites to take this tool away from us is terribly misguided and wrong.

Actually, I don't show my cards, but sometimes it happens when you show off with friends. But I do not advise showing the cards. But many have different situations. for example, this is bluffing.

I don't show my hole cards when I win in the dark. Players who show their hand on bluffs tend to provoke other players to play aggressively in subsequent hands.

I never show my cards, and I also disabled this option from PS. Showing only gives info to our opponents, we get nothing from it

I never show them. I think showing them is giving an advantage. Let your opponent always be left with the doubt whether he could have won or not. It's the best of the game of poker it seems to me.:cool:
