I think what the author of the thread means is that once you learn how to play poker, you can't stop playing it, like an addiction.

So it's better not to learn it in the first place.

I think that the message is, if you don't know how to play poker, don't learn about it because you will get engaged in a roller coaster of emotions such as happiness and pain a lot of pain and frustration, so is up to you but I recommend, don't learn 😂😂😂

I enjoy poker too much to not tell them what a fun game it is. If someone was interested in the game I would never discourage them, any more than I would if they showed an interest in shooting or reading.

It completely depends on the person. For some, poker is very good, but for others, poker can cause a lot of problems. Everyone has to know themself and make that decision for themselves.

Whoah! I'll have my author be anonymous. You have probably surmissed that it did not apply to me. But it got me to thinking... "if you don't know how to play poker, don't learn.” Is it a good advice? Is it like "if you don't smoke, don't start" advice? I smoke, I know its not good for my heath.

Could be something a parent would advise a child to spare him from the possibility of loosing hard earned money. Since not a lot of folks does succeed gambling in poker.

By learning how to play poker, you can of course lose your hard-earned money. But at least now you will know where to look for them.

It all depends on what your goal is. If you want to achieve good results, you have to study. If you are not interested in the results, then you do not need to study.

Actually, I think it makes sense, Good poker players want to play players who are not as good as they are so they can win more money. You don't want the bad players to learn so you can keep on winning.
