I never drink when I play. What if you spill it on your keyboard. Pro tip. steal a tampon from your wife, mom, GF, and soak in ever-clear. Then relax and backdoor it. No spills and direct to the bloodstream

p.s. PLEASE do not actually do this!

if you are in a game that is just for fun i guess one could drink.i refrain from drinking while playing.think about this in nevada all the casinos give away booze

I think if you are just having fun with friends then is it perfectly fine, but you are playing serious online or in person you might want to stay sober. I’ve made some bad reads/calls after having a few.

Used to when I played live with friends for fun. Online never. Anyway I became an anti alcoholic.

I drink but not to point of even being buzzed. For me it calms nerves and allows me to play better without the nervous energy just focus.

I drink some beer if I'm on a heater. If I'm in a losing session I do not drink though. I reward myself if I'm up and winning a good amount though

Drink in moderation though.I don't want to be plastered at the table and kicked out and I also don't want to make poor decisions. It makes the game more enjoyable though if I have a slight buzz. I can interact with the table more and I'm probably more happy too because I'm winning

It all depends on the quantity.) If I drink 50g. Cognac for dinner, it does not bother me much. And in a rare case when I relax with friends with the use of alcohol, I no longer have the strength to poker.)))

Do not drink alcohol while playing poker. Unless, of course, you want to lose your stack very quickly.
Drinking while playing will be overwhelmed by lack of concentration and excessive self-confidence.

I don't drink very much while playing cards. Typically I don't drink at all, but from time to time I will have a beer or two. Just too much temptation to get crazy and do stupid things. It's not worth the risk to me.

Usually I don't drink alcohol, only coffee and water, or juice. But, sometimes, a few beers is not a problem.

For sure you can drink as much as you wish if the game is not serious, if you play for example for playmoney or you are playing some cheap freeroll.
If the game is serious and you want to win it, sure, you need to have a clear mind.

I’ve lost money sober and I’ve won money tossed off my ass. The only thing that matters to me is my state of calculating when I’m at a table, sober or drinking a little.

Online i have played drunk several times (not totally drunk but on few big vodka) and in only one case i won some money. Live in a casino i never drink alcohol but live in a home game drinking is normal because the fun and relax element are more important than winning or loosing. Generally one beer can help to relax and focus but anything more than that is just bad for your game. If you play in a home game or a freeroll online and you want to drink it is ok but if you play seriously you better be sober.

i sometimes do this when i go to a casino...i get one beer and when im finished i will go to the soda station and will rinse it out and fill it back up with diet coke or whatever they have to make it look like im consuming more, if players are paying attn they'll think i'm buzzed

Not all the time, but sometimes I tip a few back. More importantly for me though is staying lit

It is nice to have something to do while you wait for those premium hands or playable hands in position. Drinking is definitely one of the options that I embrace. Of course, you have to do things in moderation and not loose control of your senses. A glass of wine, a beer or some other favourite drink. Enjoy the game and take things in moderation.

The drink alters our perceptions and also our reactions, I do not think that is a good idea for a game that involves emotional and decision making.
