You hear it all the time, someone goes on a drunken rampage and kills family, maybe friends or just some randoms who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, and yet alcohol is still legal.

As for marijuana, the biggest headline in relation to marijuana and violence would probably read something like this:....................................................................

TBH, you won't find anything on marijuana related with violence, just not possible.

If you had 2 separate rooms and in both rooms you had 10 men in each who have to spend 12 hours in their respective rooms.
In one room(A) you give them all the alcohol they can drink.
In the other(B), you give those men all the marijuana they can smoke.

I can guarantee you by the end of the 12 hours, some if not most men in room A will be sick, beatup and or dead(through beatings or alcohol poisoning).

The men in room B will be either sleeping of have an extreme case of the munchies with no casualties.

If you don't smoke or ingest marijuana, then without you doing proper research, my words have fallen on deaf ears.
I have given up drinking because it did nothing but cause problems and now smoke weed regularly, probably about as much as a man/woman has a daily beer.
Another thing, I have been with the same woman for almost 20 yrs now and can tell you if I hadn't quit drinking, I would have lost her long ago.

THIS is the kind of message one posts to justify their own addictions.

If you need a 'crutch' to live, then you aren't doing it right.

I've known people to smoke, drink, sniff, shoot before a game, though I can't say whether it helped or hurt their game, since they're not the sober type. A calm, content, and coherent mindset is what's important. Whether drugs help you achieve that or not is up to you...

In general, they won't help. If you don't genuinely enjoy the game stimulants like caffeine might make you able to stand it. They can also help in sitting for long sessions. Theres a video circulating in which a certain high stakes pro brags about some ephedrine he bought in Canada, supposeably this would help.

Alchohol helping? Yeah right! That never helped a soul.

I will smoke some weed once in a while on my way to the poker room, I dont thing it negatively affects my game.

I have heard Adderall is getting but I wouldnt want to be jittery, I wont even drink coffee at the table - I prefer to be relaxed

Weed can be very useful in poker .During the game, if you understand that you are in tilt - it helps to calm down and exit the game. Also, it helps to clearify your poker strategy before the game. I don`t know by myself, friend told me.

I try to relax as much as I can too. Avoid caffeine
I think the worse part is when I play too long say longer than 16 hours then I start looking at stimulants to keep me alert but my judgement goes downhill. Better to stay off drugs.

Though I have a friend with ADD and he swears by Adderall

If you don't do drugs regularly then it will effect your play more. Drugs will effect your play regardless of the circumstances because drugs alter brain chemistry

Last year I stopped doing alcohol and drugs (the same but just to make my point haha)and the way I play now it is completely different and better as used to. Now Im winning tournaments study more about poker not just depending on luck as I did and well, I hope I can do great things in poker and in life without getting high

I think that not a few people play online poker after using something. A lot of aggression, which is rarely justified and in general a lot of inadequate behavior at the tables, I do not think that these are just newcomers. I believe that poker is a sport and there is no place for drugs!

i do not take drugs. but when i got to the casino if i drink a whisky sour before i play i dont play as tight and i really do better. two if the game goes on for two or three hr. but not anymore.

Update: I know drink and smoke weed like mad while playing and I also now listen to music. My results have been fair.

Nootropics help me see players pocket holdings and peer into the future to see the river. Sometimes I can smell their tears and hear their fear before they even get in a hand with me.

Don't know much about the drugs you are asking about.

The biggest downside to using any substance - even caffeine....is that it can become a crutch.

Now I can't play without a strong cup of coffee, etc.
