I've been playing poker for over 5 years and I've noticed that my life outside of poker, my emotions and some other things hinder my performance, today I'm sure that to be the best at this game, you need to be focused regardless of the rest, and that's often it seems impossible, but I think that any player who manages to nullify all this has everything to be a winner.
You are correct, your mental state is extremely important to be a winning player.
But here are some tips:
See first what is happening to you, whether it is anger, hatred, or simply simpler problems.
After identifying the origin of your problem, you need to act in focus, and not simply put it aside or put a lid on top and forget it in the fire, because we know what happens to a pressure cooker forgotten in the fire, it explodes.
Every human being has problems with thoughts, the ideal is to learn to perceive and dominate them... knowing the origin makes this dominance easier.
Avoid having sad emotions, regardless of the origin of your problem, being cheerful, happy, you keep dark thoughts further away, consequently leaving problems in the background.
But the main thing is to know the origin, do a self-assessment and start acting, that way, things start to walk.
