falling asleep

Has anyone ever fell asleep during the 5min break? I did for the first time as chip leader at final table with 4 players left. top 3 make the money $22 , 33. 55 for the win.
I wake up with a 3rd but I wonder what the other players thought I know after a couple hands your sitting out so the other players when it got down to 3 players knew I wasn't playing must have had a good time splitting my blinds...lol

never have i try to entertain myself by hearing music,surfin the web,if im too tired i simply go to bed,i loose enough $ when im awake

This happens to me far more often than it should. Don't think I'd let it happen if I was down to 4 players with 3 paid though.

Simple solution is to not play when you are really tired. Hope I can listen to my own advice.

Never happened. Can't see it happening to me. I take the opportunity to browse through posts on CC. On top of that, I'm hard on carpet. I'm a pacer. I pace when I'm thinking or talking on the phone. Always have. I usually tend to get up and walk the house. I might walk into the living room and do some push-ups, look in the fridge to see if there is anything there that wasn't there an hour ago. I use the bathroom, look in on my little grandbooger. I sometimes even grab my gun and make a sweep of mine and my uncle's yards to see if I can catch one of those pesky armadillos slipping. That's how I am. I run strong until I flip the on/off switch.

My army friend told me, when he would have to stay up all night for guard duty he would sneak a nap. To make sure he didn't nap for too long and get caught, he would drink a 1-2 bottles of water. The urge to urinate was enough to wake him up. It wouldn't work for me playing poker. It makes me too anxious and leads to making overly impulsive plays when I have to go.

Many years ago I won an accumulator on the football, put a few on and one came in for £550 (off about a £1.50 bet - 9 teams to win their leagues). Aaaanyway withdraw about £400 I think it was and just played a bit of small stakes poker with the rest.

One night after an especially heavy night on the razzle, I got playing micros - badly. After a while I think it would be a great idea to register for a £100 heads up sit and go. Well, needless to say while waiting (there isnt much £100 action at 3am) I fall asleep, and wake a couple of hours later to assess the situation. Yip the tourney had come and gone without me. Easiest hundred quid some punter ever made.

Nowadays my falling asleep is limited to occasionally at late night micro cash games when waiting for hands. No damage done there.

Happened to me being massive chipleader playing the 2700 player PLO freeroll on FT about a year or two ago.

Finished 6th for 10$ then I think .

I had the keyboard displayed on my face the next morning.

lol sorry to hear that. no i have never fallen asleep during a 5 minute break, but have fallen asleep before the tourneymeny starts and got booted..

i fall asleep during play not alone on the 5 minute break. if i've played for a long time and i see a hand that looks to play out a bit. i tend to close my eyes sort of like a power nap i guess one would say. just to rest my eyes, next thing i know i've been sitting out and the blinds have passed me.
this is one of my new years resolutions is to play less poker during work weeks and get plenty of sleep. wonder how long that will last.

I've never fallen asleep during the break but I have during the tournament itself.

Playing for long hours like I used to & not getting much sleep was always what made me fall asleep.

When I drink, I tend to be wide awake & unless I'm going on only a few hours of sleep, I stay attentive.

Ya ive done it a few times after some drinkin but im not quiting drinkin and im not quiting poker so itll still happen im sure oh well. LOL I dropped my laptop and broke it last night with 4 peaple left in a tourny i won a seat but we were still playing for extra points getting fixed now im on the family puter now. ooops

kinds funny being it actually happened to me for the 1st time.being that my b-day was on the 31st i deciced to stay home safely and pulled an all day of poker into the wee hours and after a bottle of rum and poof was out.my mom was like hey u asleep so i just used her line,no ma just resting my eyes,lmao.

Playing while sleepy

I often play in bed. Sometimes in live games I fall asleep in the middle of a hand, sometimes even after a big raise when I think I am on to a certain winner I fall asleep before seeing the River. It's awful to wake up and see your stack much smaller, not knowing how many hands you missed. Once in a tournament which started with over 100 players, I was down to the final three tables and was the chip leader. I fell asleep after folding 72os. When I awoke I saw myself sitting out and auto folding AA before I could bet. The mega blinds had turned the largest stack into the smallest. I lost the next hand with an all-in desperation bet.

Sometimes I fall asleep in card chat as well. Sometimes when writing a post I fall asleep, in the middle, lying on the keypad and typing gibberish. The most amazing thing that happened like this was ffhjmfhghjg yhygkyhgghffhg hhgvhvhj gfhvghv vhhjhvjvh jhjvhhgjygubvnnvh vvjhvjhvjhjhv jhjvhhgjygubvnnvh hhgvhvhj........

I can play some freerolls when I feel tired or sleepy, but not some $$ tables....

Graham Obree did that when he beat the 1 hour bike record. You can see that method in the movie " Flying scotsman" or you can just google it

This has happened to me a few times but not during the break. I'll catch myself dosing off between hands. If you're fatigued and think you will take a 5 min nap during a break then you're done for. Try to play less or find a better time when you're not as tired and your results should improve.

sorry but the thought of falling asleep and missing out kind of makes me laugh although I do feel bad for anyone who might have lost $ to it.

I don't think I could pass out my mind is always working to hard lol

Fallen asleep midway through tourneys I have entered late in the evening on the 5 minute break but never at a FT! Usually I am pretty buzzing to have made the FT to have any chance of falling asleep LOL
