Feitr - Whats an acceptable winrate then at 100nl taking into account of the extortionate rake?..... Or is it just not acceptable?

Yea, not saying that I'm God, but it's just weird...I felt completely comfortable last month, even when running bad, but for some reason tonight I was tilting a bit.

Work out how many BB/100 you pay in rake w/ the $1 max and that will give me a better idea.

wtf poker is weird, go 4 days without a winning day, today play the worst i have at any point across the 5 days, yet end up winning enough to put me at a profit for the 5 days.

OK, on Ipoker I have played 2700 hands at 100nl and according to HEM I have paid $200 in rake so like 7.4bb/100 or 3.7BB/100 if my calcs are correct.

nl100 HU - rake = 3.04 BB/100
nl200 HU - rake = 1.94 BB/100
nl50 HU (tiny sample) - rake = 4.28 BB/100

So nl100 HU rake w/ $1 max is probably about 4.3 BB/100 as a guess. At standard 3BB/100 rake a good winrate is probably like 7BB/100-12BB/100 so 10-15BB/100 w/o rake, so losing the extra 1.2BB/100 isn't that big of a deal if you crush the games (5.8-10.8BB/100). But any winrate over 5BB/100 is good (3.8BB/100 @ ipoker) - there is potential to absolutely crush low stakes HU tho.

Would make it hard to beat if you win at a low rate. However, if you get rakeback it isn't a problem, especially if the games are soft. On stars playing HU i was getting like 5% rakeback if that and i probably only get like 15% on party.

EDIT: Ok well 2700 is pretty small (tho about the same size as my nl50 sample from which i was basing the nl100 guess). But if 3.7 is correct it isn't bad at all. 0.65BB/100 isn't going to make a difference especially w/ good rakeback.

Btw i think the main problem is that it won't get any better for nl200. w/ 50c rake nl200 is the first level where you are almost freerolling the rake compared to the level below since almost every pot easily clears the $10 needed for 50c rake (limped and min raised only). The reason i presume that $1 rake doesn't cause that much of an increase at nl100 is coz most of the pots don't really get to $20 anyways. Most typical pot is $6 (cbet wins) or $14 (either checked to SD or somebody bets once and takes it), so you are very rarely paying more than 70c in rake.

But with $1 max and nl200 you'll be crossing $20 alot, but most pots will still be somewhere around there ($12-$28) so you'll be paying the max and it will cut into your winrate quite a bit.

I hate days like this.
Play forever, and just lose money, if not a lot.
If this month isn't good poker-wise I'm just quitting poker altogether.
Spend my time on something I don't lose money with.

This was cool I guess even though it got me nowhere.

Cheers Feitr. I've only got about 5k hands in at HU, so I'll see how it goes this month.... as I'm basically resigned to never winning another SD pot at 6max ever imo!

I wish I hadn't played 6mx today, and just played HU instead! 1st 100 hands @ 6mx -3.3 buy ins...... AK<KK, QQ<99, AA<22.

Fortunately winning 8 buy ins at HU eases my 6mx woes!

I'm liking Feb. more and more! I started yesterday morning with $1.23. By last night I had it up to over $10. This morning I got on and three tabled for the first time and got it up to over $20.

So I decided to play in the $1.10 rebuy at UB. I didn't have to rebuy at all by just playing my game, but did add on twice at first break for a total investment of $3.10.

I played one of my best games ever and come out third for $89.76. So, in two days I went from $1.23 to now over $110!!!

Yea it is pretty fun. Very psychological and you really have to have a good control on ego/tilt. So much of the game is metagame dependent, which is where it really diverges from 6max imo. Just get ready for the sickest swings of your life!
