ugh that sucks, not sure if it will or not. If it's not your hard drive that died, you can ask your friend to actually open up HEM and export all your hands into your new pc so you can import them. HEM uses postgres which is different from PT2's actual files it used to keep, so it's not as easy as transferring a couple files. Yeah, tell him how to export hands and he should be able to do it if he can access your HD.

A techie friend says he can transfer the data from the drive on my old computer to whatever new one I buy. Does anyone know if my HEM database will be intact in this process? Will I have to request thousands of hands from FT?

This sucks.
had the same problem a few days ago. My computer crashed and i had to format it(again...FKN VISTA!!).
Luckily i could log on before i formated it to save all my HH to USP hardrive and then imported them back into PT3 when i re-instaled every thing ;)

This sucks.

You should be able to copy the actual Postgres db files so you shouldn't need to reimport all your hands (assuming the HD is still viable).

Check the HEM forum for details on which files you'll need to move over.

I approve of this page in feb chat.

I do not approve of shoving straight flush on river.
You should have checked to give him a break ldo.

Earlier today I was trapped in the vicious circle of steps hell.
Played a step 1 got step 2 ticket. Played a step 2 was one of chipleaders, idiot doubles up twice against me with T3os and 98s < TT.
Finished 5th for a step 1. Play the step 1, finish 3rd, get a step 1 back.

It goes on and on and on. Damn you steps !!!

Yes I know but pretty small nonetheless :)

Also played a crazy step 2.
was down to 300 chips with 8 left. made it to the bubble with 2.5k.
Got a lock on return to step 1, then the shortest stack kept folding everything and I had to fold to bigstacks too. got a lock on return to step 2 which is top 4.

Then doubled up twice with the worst hand 3 handed.
And got the ticket to step 3 obv :)

What happened to pokerstars changing the way they calculate fpp, has that happened yet? I haven't noticed a difference while playing micro.

I noticed on Full Tilt in the automated chat the other day, "contact support if you would like the ability to play up to 16 tables". Anyone know what that is about, do they offer condensed table views like U.B used to, or so you can tile more tables?

vv oh ok, thanks wvh.

The default limit at FT is 8 tables. If you contact support they up it to 16. No different view options.
