When you see that a certain player is from one country or another, which ones do you respect more, those that represent something dangerous to you? List your top 3.

Brazilian flag, argentinian and most of the 888 flags, because those we cannot know exactly where they are from and cultural behaviors.

top 3 for me :

1- Russia. They are crazy and cold at the same time
2- Brazil. I am one, so one bandit knows another, in a good way.
3- México. I don't know why, but they always have good luck with me.

You only have flags on Wars ? World cup is just a game and its based on flags. Olympic games are just games and it is also based on flags. The flags are not there in 888, GG by chance. It is a way to get information.

I believe some countries have overall a better poker field and if I have to make a top 3(I play mostly on Unibet where we can't know our opponents' info and we can even change 5 aliases/day... and my 2nd site is 888poker, so I'll pick my leaderboard from here), I'd go with:

1. Brazil - good aggressive players that aren't afraid to make the best decision they can and even don't mind gambling at any point of a game, regardless of the stacks/buy-ins... IMO this is the top 'poker country' ATM and it's not even close... (y)
2. Ukraine - very good players overall, but at least at my stakes the majority are a bit more passive (at least compared to the players from Brazil), probably TAG style is the most used by the poker field from this country and for some reason- the most hero calls I've seen at my tables were made by players from Ukraine- well deserved 2nd spot...
3. like it was mentioned above, on 888 there are quite a few players without a country flag(different countries, but IIRC mostly Russia, Belarus, Hungary...), so I'm a bit more cautious when I'm in big pots/tough spots vs. players with '888 flag'...

Did you know that many online poker professionals are based in Austria? Because there are no gambling restrictions there, unlike in many European countries, and there's a kind of tax incentive to move there. Oh, and I forgot to mention, another country I respect: Austria.

I don't care about flags honestly. Every player is different. I just watch how they play.

True we do have many many Pros living here because of exactly the reason you mentioned.
The most famous is a German and 3 Austrians residing in Vienna.

Fedor Holz 🇩🇪
Mario Mosböck 🇦🇹
Thomas Mühlöcker🇦🇹
Matthias Eibinger🇦🇹

But we do have many more like Daniel Rezaei, Samuel Mullur, Klemens Roiter for example.

I wouldn't necessarily say I respect a flag but I am always cautious when my opponent is a Brazilian ^^

My top 3 nations with the most dangerous players is for me

1. Germany
2. Austria
3. Brazil

Austria to Germany, France, etc. would also be Canada to the USA. Incredibly, the USA has several restrictions on online gaming. The land of the free isn't so free after all, and many Americans play from Canada.

I respect all adequate players, regardless of what flag they play under. Except russia, because russia is not a country, it is a territory controlled by a terrorist organization.

I honestly don’t even pay attention to that. I respect all players equally, because every country has both good and bad players.

I respect all the players, from each country, because there are good players, and we have regulars.

In the Replay CC community freerolls i rely on my notes almost entirely . The Brazilians , as a general rule , get the least respect ! I see them as impatient gamblers + thieves .

I wouldn’t put much stock in country flags as a reliable read.
It’s tempting, but it’s basically a shortcut that can mislead you.
Player pools on most sites are so mixed now that you’ll find every style from every country.

Russian, Ukrainian and maybe Hungarian, but it's either very bad or very good.

Ukrainians and Canadians, I don't know why I always have trouble with these players, they're very aggressive and when I get big hands they always connect and eliminate me or leave me with big blinds

I believe the theme here is "Xenophobia," however, "Respect for others" should be maintained everywhere. I, personally, don't care about a player's origin; I treat everyone as equals. It's worth emphasizing that "no one can be better than anyone else, except themselves."

I don't generalize, I don't go by nationality, I look at how many hands he plays preflop, the range of hands he uses, the size of bets, to give him a grade of good player, crazy, etc.

I generally have more respect for Russians, especially on ggpoker where they seem to be stronger in terms of technical skill level.

That's a really interesting question, and I don't think I'll answer truthfully. Occasionally, you can see people play with certain tendencies from certain areas for sure.
