Being that I'm 66 years old and my last divorce was 7 years ago I've decided that poker is more fun and important than a relationship. Seems that women want a guy with a real life. LMAO Anyway I'm happy and I'm not making someone else mad or miserable, I'm good with that.

Nothing new here but balance, balance, balance. That being said if you don't wish to spend time with her then don't. She will feel neglected and hurt then move on. You will find something or some one in your life that is worth striking a balance for. I have found that my other pursuits including my AMAZING wife really help my game. It is good to have perspective that the world and my life are much larger than the game I love so much.

I actually haven't been in a serious relationship with anyone since I really started playing online poker. However, I used to play pool at least five nights a week while I was in my last serious relationship. On Wednesday nights my pool buddies usually got together for a low limit cash game. The county that our pool hall was in didn't allow beer or liquor sales past midnight on Saturdays, so they usually closed early and hosted a regular cash game that a couple of us played in if we couldn't drum up any action on the pool tables anywhere.

Now that I look at it, it seems like a pretty busy week when you throw a full time job in there. I know I was playing pool more than poker, but to me it seems pretty much the same. The point is that my girlfriend got along with my circle of friends. And it didn't hurt that she usually brought something to keep herself busy if she got bored whether it was at a pool hall or bar or my house. Maybe I was lucky, but on the other hand, she of knew what she was getting into when she started dating me. I don't think my ex-wife would have accepted it if I started playing any significant amount of online poker. But I don't think my ex-girlfriend would have any problem with it at all. I guess it depends on the female and the relationship.

This! If you are a losing player and never have money or other things due to being a losing player, then yes a woman will most likely not be too interested in the hobby or habit....

I know you shouldn't have to pay off your gf but I would def do nice things for her with some of your winnings to show that good things can come from poker. Also the amount of time, especially if you are a tournament player, can play a factor in the gf vs. poker battle. Set times to play and times to spend time with her. Show her that days like Sunday are important if you are a tournament player or show her the best times for cash if that is the case.

it just comes down to a struggle for attention, eventually thats all its about. Try to watch the negative outburst, they love to rejoice but hate to watch someone they love lose and get frustrated, then ... yes u can tilt your way out of intimacy lol

Here is something to 'think' about as well. Women want to be heard, feel safe, feel secure, and usually want their way too...most of them simply want to be 'respected'.

I constantly get ragged on by the wife for playing poker if I'm at the casino or at
home playing online,It's not like I play everyday maybe 3 days out the week but when I do play she bugs the crap out of me. I thought I was the only 1 with this problem.
