If you are annoyed by any obscene language that other players write, then just turn off the chat and do not look at it. Some people do it specifically to get you out and you start playing badly. I for example do not turn off the chat and read everything, but in return I do not answer because I do not care who and what writes to me

Don't ignore the player,you should say something to get him mad and maybe he could make a mistake and you could take his chips.

Why do you even bother looking at what he writes? You should never listen from another player at the table. Poker is a game where you cannot put your trust in your opponents, it`s only you. So if an opponent insults you just let him speak and report him because he is not allowed to swear.

Blocking them is sometimes s good choice, but someteimes these kind of players are typing themselve in rage and then u need to try to get him in a pot and get all his chips ( if safe)

Sign of a weak player

You should not worry too much about these kinds of reactions. Most of the time they indicate an unexperienced poker player who can't exploit his opponents by playing in a strategical manner, instead they use a very poor approach trying to intimidate, which is something everybody can do it with no poker skill whatsoever. What should really concern you when facing these players is how much is that bothering you? Because, in my oppinion, a good poker player makes good decisions when having a clear state of mind. So, my advice here would be to focus most on what's really happening at the table than in the chatbox. Good luck!

Depends o n my mood. Sometimes I will spit back vitriol especially if I can get under that players skin.

By far the best approach is silence and then knock them out or take their money (depending on cash/tourney).

Other times, I will ask for advice. And request that they coach me since they are so well versed in the game and slumming in low stake games.
