I've spent a lot of time playing poker, and overall, I think it's been good. It really teaches valuable lessons about things like variance, how to control your emotions, and how to deal with ups and downs.

Poker is more than just a game to me. It’s a challenge that teaches patience, discipline, and emotional control. While I enjoy the competition and the opportunity to win, I also see it as a way to continuously learn and improve my decision-making skills.

It's more than a hobby for me ... it's an obsession ! but i certainly dont make much money from it since i am mostly just a freeroll player .

For me, poker is mainly a hobby. I enjoy the strategy, competition, and the feeling of making good decisions. Of course, winning money is nice, but my main goal is to keep learning and improving. If the results come, that's a bonus.

Beyond the technical aspects of the game, poker teaches you how to deal with emotions, euphoria, disappointment, anxiety, and patience. It's a good exercise for all of that. That's how I see Poker.

to me, a hobby that “may” make money
but even when i win some, im really playing for fun
(tho friends are like “why don’t you cash out?)
well, then i may have to deposit..
i’ve been playing free (with some big money buyins) forever…
like gold panning, mushroom picking, fishing etc…
it’s not about the win as much as the love of the sport…👍

Even though I've played poker for 10+ years and I study constantly to improve my game, tbh I play a lot more nowadays (both live and online), I'm still a recreational player that sees poker as a hobby that can bring some extra money * I've mentioned on the community that I have a few friends that have some really expensive hobbies, some which are mobile games- similar in many ways with poker: grinding to get better/level up, a way to 'waste' some free time while relaxing/forget about IRL stuff etc... I believe poker accomplishes this for myself and instead of spending a lot of money without a chance to get it back, in poker I can have fun, do it for longer periods of time without starting something allover again and even earn money (depends on a few factors, like your poker skills, bankroll management etc).

For me, poker is still a hobby, but I admit that I would like it to become a source of extra income
I really like the game and its strategic side. I know it's not easy and that there's a lot of variance, but I'm still studying and trying to improve. If one day I manage to earn consistent extra income from poker, it will be great.

Well, poker means a lot to me, it's an additional income, but I hope that one day it will be my main income, poker also means making friends from other countries, sharing this love for poker with them, talking about poker with them, telling them about your successes and failures, etc.

I see poker as a hobby and a source of entertainment, even though I sometimes get frustrated with it. There is an important point: you can’t really build a fortune in poker without going through significant losses along the way. The more you win, the more you also lose at times, and the more you play and bet, the more variance and losses you will face...

For now it's additional income/hobby until I have enough bankroll and then I'll do it full time.. I love this game.
