How do your loved ones perceive the fact, that you play poker?

My dad, who taught me how to play Hold'em when I was 4 or 5, makes a comment anytime the fact that I play comes up, but he knows in the end I'm responsible with my money so I don't think he's too concerned about it. Besides, he's the one who got me hooked on it!

Of my relatives, nobody is against my poker game, but there is no support. For them, it looks like a regular other online game or something else.

My family doesn't really mind, my kids know both my Mom and I play , and my hubby used to , and he has replaced it with golf online.

I tried it , and didn't do well - way to much math in it for me !!
Also, there things like wind , hills , trees etc, that you need to deal with and you need to pretty much finish the game ... when I am in a cash game or even a tourney and am not doing well, I can leave !

Ypu can pause your game in online golf if you are playing by yourself thoug , poker you cannot.

No one supports my poker game. Nobody believes that you can make money in poker. Absolutely everyone thinks that poker is the equivalent of a slot machine in a casino, and only luck will give you a chance to win poker. I do not prove anything to anyone, I believe that only facts will help prove my case.
But online poker is more likely to earn rake for casinos.

Most of my family think I play too much. My friends support me. You can pick your friends, but you cant pick your family. So I just play and tell some of my friends when I am in a big tourney. Small stakes, I just keep it to myself.

In my family, I am the only one who plays poker, for what others ignore, and only see it as a card game.
From my friends I get a lot of support, with them I share my emotions and experiences of the game, and I take refuge when things are not going well.

As long as I don’t neglect them they are fine with it. I usually play when I’m by myself. I also usually play on mobile so I can do other things while I play, like making dinner or emptying dishwasher, etc. I also play micro stakes so money is not an issue.
