How do your loved ones perceive the fact, that you play poker?

I don't have my own family yet but my mother and my father never told me anything bad seeing that i play poker. They do not play poker or any other gambling related game so in the beginning they must have been rather skeptical and made a few jokes with me. Later they saw that i play for fun, do not risk my living money, do not play constantly (so i am not addicted) and even earn a dollar sometimes so now they are even supportive asking as a joke when i will win wsop to buy them new car.

As with many other situations proof is in the pudding. Regarding friends - some of them also play poker which is great. Other do not play and simply do not care that i play.

My family takes it well, they also know that I do it seriously. That would not put a penny that does not correspond to poker.
I think the key is to separate the finances.
The poker money is poker, although if there is an extra part to carry, better still

My whole family against poker. Even if I win. But when I lose then "I have told you" I get criticism. You can't play it so hard to be a winner and a burden of proof.

I have no problem. Poker should not negatively affect the time you spend with your family and friends. The family is in the first place.

My family and friends against the fact that I play poker, especially when I lost another Deposit, but when I win a little money all happy to help them spend.

What discipline are you playing? Cash or MTT ? Try to reduce the size of the field, and how about satellites with slow speed format mtt? In the near future I would like to switch to satellites for expensive tournaments. If of course, luck will wink at me a bit, since lately my game is going really bad.

My Wife is very supportive when I win at poker which isn't very often. My family is alright with the fact that I play poker. I'm even teaching my daughter who is 15 years old how to play poker. I'm trying to teach her how to play a tighter game then I do.

The two of my immediate family members who supported my poker playing the most have both just recently deceased. BOTH of them told me they were willing me their estates and BOTH said that its a requirement that I go & spend a couple weeks in Vegas at the WSOP, being sure to play in the Main Event. I told both of them "Thanks.... but I don't think I'm up for the Main Event... I wouldn't feel comfortable spending that much for one tournament."
I was supposed to go this summer but I've got other family members who are sick and needing me to look after them. Looks like it's going to be next year.

Half of my family has been supportive (the ones who play cards & who know me the best). The others... pff... who cares?

for me my parents are the only ones who don't like me playing poker, that is, how I spend money on it..the sometimes i am bad but when i win then of course they are happy and they say i can give some money soon i won

and my partner also used to play poker sometimes so he support me.

My friends laugh at how angry I am when I lose and how happy I am when I win. It's Russian roulette of emotions makes them have fun ahah. In the rest of my family, as long as I don't deposit all my money to play, there is no problem ahah

My Mum is old fashion and thinks it is waist of time, degenerative, and gambling and the negative stigmas that surround the word gambling. This sucks because I feel like her support would go along way and help to make me feel better about my decision to try and play poker for a living. Particularly when I lose at poker.

My other half is very supportive, she knows I'm not a reckless gambler and stick to limits a can afford and freerolls. I setup a picnic table over the corner of our sofa for the laptop and extra portable screens. This way we are still in the same room together
