How many hours of poker is suitable for one day of play?

I played in a free roll yesterday that started with around 500 or so players. After about 6 hours I knew that I had played too many hours of straight poker.

It wouldn't be the same for everyone. Depends on what responsibilities a person has. Such as wife or husband, kids and a job. I have none of the above so I play 8 to 10 hours a day most days.

I started playing a tournament while watching the game, bad idea. I was a little tired already and the tournament ran later than the game did then I just started doing stupid things because of fatigue. Once again too many hours of poker. ...

I think it depends on what we play if we play cash if we can set a schedule instead if we play tournaments there depends on our quality of play .. since a tournament can last between 3 4 5 or more hours .. and if not put a quantity of money to spend per day.

I played 4 hrs of poker yesterday without any interruptions or complaints, I might have found a happy medium between personal time and poker time. I will test this theory again today or tomorrow to see if it works again. ..lol:icon_thum

i believe that's individual, because for some, this can be a lifestyle, a fun, an addiction. I don't believe in how many hours a day it takes, because if you're in the mood to play all day, then played

I dont think I could be a number on it, depends on what you are playing in I suppose, I use to play a lot more than I do now, but still like to keep my hand in it.

For each individual it all depends on the body and age. With age, I have less opportunity to sit and play for a long time.

I think it depends why you want to keep playing.
If you are feeling good and fresh then I don't see the problem continuing.
If you are chasing losses then it may be time to call it a day

The more hours of play, the greater the chances of winning, so this means that you are ahead in the tournament. Generally speaking, I think 8 hours to 10 hours

Here lately I spend several hours, upwards of 6+, playing. It’s definitely not healthy because I could be doing so much more productive things- but it’s so much fun!!

As it seems to me, 8-10 hours for playing poker is quite enough for me,but then I either from fatigue or else that I start to play poorly.

If I go deep ITM, good roll on a Tournament can easy get over 5 hours. After that I´m done. Not even the next day I do not play.

So I think it really depends. If your are playing a big tournament it could happen that you have to play very long but if you just play some litte games it would be just a few hours. Probably the first three hours you are concentrated and focused.
