Bankroll

Players tend to loose their bankroll for severall reasons. By the way, I also used to. In my opinion the main reason- is playing poker to win a lot. Amateur player constantly thinks about cash, but a regular player thinks about decisions. Good players don't care about money, usually they have 50-100 buy-ins and and one or two lossing sessions make no difference to them. But a recreational player would get down on himself, as a result he is going to take wrong actions and loose his bankroll again and again......again and again......

Many. I don't remember the number anymore. This is a normal situation. Poker is unpredictable. Yesterday in the freeroll of the forum I had 4 4 for my opponent and what do you think he got 4 on the river. And that's it, I came out with 15K chips. I haven't played so well for a long time, but my opponent was very lucky. How can you predict this? Because everyone loves poker - you can unexpectedly win a lot and then just as strangely and unpleasantly lose everything.

the most important thing is not to take a successful river as your merit!

Never, the object of poker is to bust the other guy not yourself.

I'm only playing freroll, so my bankroll is safe for now. But on pokerstars I made some sports bets and almost lost $200, save for a goal in the 90th minute.

ive busted my roll literally hundreds of times, but i only really deposit $10 or $20, and play freerolls mostly now instead of depositing... so thats good, ive also had some big wins in live casino poker to balance everything out; and, when i do at times cashout online, the volume of one of my cashouts typically cover or equal about 100-400 times one of my online deposits. :)

Bankroll yo-yo is probably a part of most poker players ’lives.
There are probably very few players (if any) who have not yet lost their bankroll.
For sure, that uncomfortable feeling.

I broke 3 times and i am feeling Very bad :(
Never. I've been very lucky. Started in $1 games with $25 stake. Took a long time but built bankroll to $150 and then played mostly $3 triple up SNGs. Then built bank roll to $350, again a long time, and began playing $7 triple up SNGs. Then progressed to $15, $25 and finally $50 triple up SNGs, all while maintaining a minimum of 50:1 stake to buy in ratio. Did this over the course of several years. Today, I play $50 triple up SNGs with a $15,000 stake, a ratio of 300:1, and have never come close to losing even a quarter of my stake. I play other games occasionally, but the triple up SNG game has been my cash cow. It fits my level of patience and moderately aggressive personality. If my stake ever dwindled down to $7,500 by hitting a horrendous bad beat losing streak or something, I'd drop back down to the $25 games to maintain my 300:1 ratio.

Around 20 years ago I played online with around a $400 deposit and survived about 50,000+ hands before busting out to multi-table players playing only 2 pair, sets, or premium nuttish hands. "forget that noise"

Then I quit my job to run full time on the casino's cash tables. I played for about 7 months putting in 8 hours a day win or lose. I was neither winning nor losing, having stayed about the same balance, yet my bills still came on relentlessly digging into my savings. I determined that it wasn't sustainable, and though I didn't bust, I quit and went back to it recreationally.

This happened to me at least 3-4 times. It's unpleasant, but with experience I realized that my main mistake is lack of discipline. I have since become much more disciplined and accordingly patient, and currently my bankroll is steadily growing.

There has never been such a thing. You need to play those limits at which even the longest downswing will not lead to zero bankroll.

Discpiline and bankroll management. Not playing on tilt. Those are the main guidelines

One is enough for me. It was before 13 years. If I ever lose my BR again, I will quit poker 100%.

Too many times, my friend, too many times... But right now I only play freerolls. If I can improve, I'll be proud of myself, if I can't, I won't. I know the base rules, but I never stay patient. I have to learn it, hopefully one day I will be success.

I broke many times in the beginning, because I didn't have the patience and wanted to multiply my winnings quickly, and since poker is a game where you need a lot of patience, I ended up constantly breaking.

But over time I learned to have better control over my bankroll and working on my self-control and today I have satisfactory results.
