How much money do you think you need to start playing poker?

I think that first you have to be prepared, just a small amount will be enough to start playing tournaments. Then it will depend on the level in which you play or that you have.
Proper bank management is the cornerstone of a good poker player.

Depends on your goal. And depends on if you're talking LIVE or ONLINE.

The general rule for good bankroll management in Online MTTs is don't enter in more than 1-2% more than your bankroll. Live, no more than 5%.

So, if you have an online bankroll of $100, start at the 50c - $2 games. Live, you're going to need a bigger bankroll. If you start a bankroll around $5,000, then entering in tournaments at $250 and under would be good to start.

But with all that said, there is still nothing wrong with just entering in tournaments for fun if you're not expecting to build a bankroll.

No need any bankroll if you playing for fun, just start with freerolls and then follow strict BRM of at least 100X in mtts . you will never feel the pressure at certain points of the late stage to play your own game. most of all enjoy

$10,000 for playing the micros probably need ~$30,000 for low stakes MTT ($20-$30)

Is it really that much? ~1,000 buy-ins seems like a large figure compared to ~60 buy-ins for cash game with 100BB each

It depends on each player, but by depositing the minimum you can explore and analyze your pros and cons and from there trace your path, the best of course is based on freerolls but it is not bad to start with a bankroll having solid bases, for example someone can start with 1000 dollars and that person had never dealt with tilt that is almost certainly not going to end well, so starting with the minimum initial deposit is fine, of course the range is very short with the minimum deposit but it will help you to see how it works all

I always had in mind that if I was ready the money would come, what does that mean? I mean that I started from scratch, I started with freerolls, of course this method is a little time consuming, at first I won some coins and then I lost them, then I started to add the winnings, I managed to add 265 dollars, I deposited at party poker, I won a casino bonus, keep playing for 3 weeks without stopping and i won 1200 dollars.... I currently have a goal of 5k to reach, the strategy is to win tickets with 1 dolllar and get the itm in big tournaments

I made my first deposit after about 2-3 years of playing....I only played freerolls. I think it is necessary to know how this game works, then you can make the first deposit!

If just starting I would just put on what you can, say 50/100 dollars and then plug away at micro/low limits. You need to learn how to play first. The freerolls are also good for that but with the exception of the Cardchat platinum freerolls that also have a lot of good players standard freerolls are very unrealistic play as no one has a stake and don't play the same as hen players have something to lose. If your still learning hands etc though can have some use.

It always and only depends on how much money you need to win. Then the correct question would be: how many BB/hr do I need to win at which stakes and how much money do I need to play there? 50 x 100BB should show you whether you can make it. Regarding Tournaments, just ask yourself how much money do I have and start playing 1% buy in of that amount. If you get broke, play freerolls....

Honestly no money at all. Play as many freerolls online, and as much with friends as possible. Get used to the game. Sometimes local pubs have leagues on that are free to play too. Only use money when you are fully confident on how to play, even then, as little as possible

To start, you don't need anything, other than time and resilience.

To win and turn it into a job you need a few 0000... to spare. But first you must learn how to play properly. Otherwise, it's a literal waste of money. But hey, without losers, there's no winners. So. do what your heart tells you.

I think the more money in the account the better. Although you can play at no cost using freerolls, but not everyone can make a profit this way.
