How much money does it take to become a poker pro?

It is not a matter of how much you have at the moment, it is how much you gonna make every month and years down the road.
I have 60k put aside as my bankroll in live CG and tournament yet i'm still not ready to make the full approach. Been studying 10-12 hours 5 days a week, 1 day of live CG per week, for the last 11 months. And yet i'm still not ready.

As I think, to be a good professional poker player - at least you need to have at least some kind of income, and not periodic wins.

Hi mate,if someone is planning to quit his job in order to become a poker pro,I think ,he ,at least should have a 2 year salary as a bankroll to start this challenge in his life..

I don't think it's just money, it's more about charisma, knowledge of poker, the experience gained during years of play and also winning many tournaments thanks to that experience, that's what makes you a professional poker player.

It's not about the money it's all about the knowledge you accumulated in poker and invested the time to learn from mistakes and be the better version of ourselves so we can go deep in tournaments and earn more than we ever imagined

There is no exact amount but you can consider to become a pro, you have to invest the same amount of money and time, you would invest on a university or college degree..

its not just about money I think.. yes you must have and put in games some money, because it would never be very good practise in free games

I think you need more great results than cash..

Over period of time you have to archive things..

I really want a sponsor in Poker that would be my dream

Everyone has their down days and just crap luck draws at times but to be a pro you have to be able to roll with the hits, study, and always view the long term outcomes.

It has EVERYTHING to do with the money people. You have to win tournaments(or alot of top finishes) and have good nights(better then bad nights) at cash tables. You have to have lots of money in reserve for downswings especially to live on. There is no such thing as a low limit(or low buyin) pro LMFAO it covers ALL cost of living plus!!!

Poker is a game that requires skill and experience. It takes time to become a professional. Therefore, it all depends on how expensive you value your time.

Totally agree with you mate.

Your salary often comes from the work, so if you pay the bills, buy food or something like that, your life conditions will be okay. Than, family and friends will matters too. And the reamaning money's part can be converted into your bankroll.
I just want to say don't mess up your life with poker, cause maybe you need more money to reach one day good results.

I agree. But you can also be low buy-in pro, even freeroll grinder pro, if the money ammount you winning are good for you for living. It is possible in some countries. And of course if you grow bankroll, you move forward at buyins

the question is not money in little lost a lot of money in an hour
