Each player has his own line of losing money. In venturesome gamblers probably don’t have any money loss border. You need to approach poker wisely. I always choose a place for the game so that I have a minimum of losses and in case of winning a good prize. That is, I choose tournaments with a small entrance but with a large number of players. I don’t go to cash tables, because there I lose my money more often than I win.

I disagree with that mindset. You are putting your mind in a losers mentality. Don't consider deposited money as lost money. It is merely your stake. And if you can look at it and ignore the dollar sign and just consider it how you buy into a tourney, that is the first major step in becoming a true pro player.

"Poker is not for you" sounds weird to me. Why should poker (or other activities for that matter) be for some people and not for others ? As long as you have a brain, you can use it to learn and improve yourself. If you are thinking of poker as a hobby, then it's a different situation. But serious players, and there are so many of them, always work hard at it and follow the evolution of poker, studying and practicing. You'll never hear any of them say : "Maybe this is not for me"...

I have been playing at 888 lately, and with a 10$ deposit you get a lot of perks and freerolls that are not hard to get in the money. They aren't the greatest site, customer service wise, but you can't have everything. The bonuses only work if you lose, kind of like insurance, so maybe that is another incentive.

I am not sure how to answer this question. I know I have the skill to beat the softest games, but I also know I am a fish in harder games.

So if I don't move up, I should be able to stay on the plus side, but the second I get greedy I will lose my bankroll.

Depends how much you are willing to lose for it even winning players will go on really bad downswings but that’s what they know they signed up for playing poker

If you’ve won in the past over a large sample a 20-30 buyin downswing is likely to happen at some point if you haven’t won in the past it’s a lot harder to know if this playing bad

You need a good attitude towards studying and a lot of grit and determination to be able to get better not just starting off but always if you haven’t got that then it’s probably not for you

Such players are unlikely to count their past losses. They see their only goal as winning, and they will not stop.

I look at the losses I take in poker as tuition towards being a better player. The important part is to grow and learn from the mistakes you've made.

I would recommend dropping down in buy ins to a level you can afford to play for a long time without worrying about money as you learn the game. It takes a lot of time to get to the point where you can win money playing this difficult game, but once you get there it's incredibly rewarding and fun!!

I have been playing online poker for a very long time and once even I lost my first car to poker, then for a long time I was in shock and did not want to play poker anymore, I was in a terrible state.
