When i started playing online poker i played freerolls and won some pennies then poker stars had some community freerolls for 1000 and got 40 something T money turn that into real money so no deposit i'm playing with their money and liking it a lot

On-line? I started with nothing, not a single Red Cent, I have never deposited any of my own money, Playing Free-rolls and building a bankroll from them and then continuing to play for Micro and Low stake buy-ins.
Live games are a different matter, and my first buy-in was just £6.00, that was £5 for the prize pool and £1 for the best hand made before the break, with as many as twenty players in a 3 table game that paid you £20 if you made the best hand before the break, and a further £100 prize pool split between the top three players,
My reasoning behind these cheap games was that I had 3 hours of entertainment, for less than it would cost me to go to the Cinema to watch a 90 minute film, and a third of what it would cost me to watch a local Football match that lasted 45 minutes each way, (No Thanks!).
Paying to watch 22 grown men chase a ball around has never appealed to me.
Poker is a game I enjoy playing, being a part of the game, being involved, that is what appeals to me most, winning or losing is not that important to me, I will take the win, but hey I lost some of the time, but lost What? A Cinema ticket?

I started playing the 25 cent 6max turbos at global with $20. It was a grind, but I eventually built a bankroll from that. I believe that anybody who wants to build a bankroll with modest financial means to start can pick up a copy of Moshman's SNG book, plop down 20 bucks, and build away. That's how I started.

Within 1 year and 2500 games, I turned that $20 into $1700 just by following the advice in the book, and then studying ICM. So realistically you could start with 20 bucks at the 25 cent table and then be playing $20 buy ins within a year. Probably could go even further in that year if you put more time into learning, and played more games.
