How old were you when you first started playing poker? And were you instantly hooked?

I was about 15 and hated it and found it a couple years later and for some reason seemed to like it then- the rest is history lol.

Played around the kitchen table with toothpicks for betting around 10 years old. Wasn't hooked until many years later when my oldest son got hooked with all the holdem coverage on TV. Guess that was around 2000 or so. I play now and he has no interest in it.

Hey.
I was a little over 20 years old, I studied at the academy, played roulette at a casino, and went to the table with poker, after which it became interesting for me to play at a deeper level.

I first started with limit hold'em towards my 26th birthday. I didn't know too much about it but having played ignition and live cash games, I got a better understanding of how to play.

I started playing Video Poker machines at 16 but that doesn't really count. Only the last few years I've been playing actual poker, though very casually.

I was 17 years old when I saw poker players playing and I liked this game, then I started to learn the rules and train to play free chips and I could win, I started trying to play poker for money when I was somewhere 22 of the year, I got to win money in the game and get extra profit, but this is not always!

Hello.
In my opinion, the age in poker is absolutely not important. Only your desire to learn and win is important.

I first experienced the pleasure of playing poker at 22. There were UPS and downs and breaks for six months, but still come back.

I was 22 or 23 and played in the university with my colleagues but totally for fun. I was not hooked at all when i saw that the game is in fact not easy and in around an year i quit playing. Just 1 year ago i started playing again this time with intention to learn and become good player. Now i really like to play but can not tell that i am hooked in a bad way.

Probably around 19. I played in the university reading room in between classes...wasn't very good...would lose a couple of dollars in nickel/dime games (guts, acey/deucey, black Chicago, 7 card stud...Texas Holdem did not exist back then).

I played a little when I was a kid and just at drinking games etc growing up. Didn't start to play for serious cash until I was 24.

I was around 25 years old. I loved it from the start. Especially because it's not all about luck but also odds calculation and bluff in the right position.

I guess, I was around 27 years old, when I started playing poker. So I play now around 13 years. Between I had one time a short break of around half year till one year as I was not playing profitable in the beginning.

My friends and I played poker in the building. Then we were 10-12 years old. Just now I found out that this 5-card draw poker was called with the exchange. For some reason we considered then the only type of poker.
