How did you get introduced to the game of poker?

Hi all!
Tell us how you got acquainted with the game of poker?
For me, the first experience was offline, when my colleagues just decided to get together for the weekend in the meeting room of the office. This game seemed interesting to me, but then I didn’t understand the rules yet) Now I play almost exclusively online.

Some friends of mine played a bit but I did not pay attention to them. But one day I was at home and watching TV, when there was a poker show just about to begin, hosted by a famous comedian. I watched the show and was immediately hooked!

My first experience in poker was several years ago, I was in a casino with some friends, and I always looked at those poker tables, until I decided to investigate how it was played, and I really liked it, and since then I have been playing poker in alive and now online. I love poker very much.

My first experience in poker was 10 years ago, being with some friends who already played poker online, I learned little by little, and the world of poker fascinated me, since then I have been playing poker in many online rooms. You have to have a lot of discipline and perseverance to see the gains. This game is very attractive, I will continue playing as long as life allows me.

GREAT question........ My brother was a high ranking player at PokerStars many years ago before he passed and was always taking poker, that led me to download PS (around 2005). I only played freerolls (including a $1000 win) back then. I played for a few years then let it slip....... About 2-3 years ago I installed PS again and really really enjoyed it. Then my wife began playing as well and that made it even more fun and I have been playing basically non-stop ever since now and needless to say finding this site added a whole new dimension to the game making it even more fun!!!!

I know I am dating myself however here goes, As a child I watched as my parents had a poker game in our house almost every Saturday night--at that time in the '50s they played dealers choice- games like straight 7/high Chicago, 3 card draw etc. that was my introduction to Poker, then in 1960 I joined the Military and yes almost every night we played some form of poker/Black Jack. Then in the 90's with the advent of home computers and of course AOL. I began to play on line...then around 2003 I started on Pokerstars and the rest is history I am addicted. lol

've already told my story here of how I started in poker, but it doesn't hurt to repeat it.
I started poker by chance, I really like playing video games, and I remember I was playing Red Dead Redemption 1 on my Xbox 360, and in the game there is a part where you have to play Texas Holdem in order to improve in the game.
The big problem is that I had never played Texas Holdem, so I went to look for it on the internet, and from watching so many videos about the game I ended up enjoying it and never stopped playing.
Today I continue to play video games, but of course poker comes first.

It was my first year in the university and I was broke. I was looking for ways to make money. Surely I lost everything I had my first week. I got upset and stopped playing. Here I am 16 years later trying to learn the game and advance 😁

I 1st stared playing as a kid. We did not know what we were doing but it was fun. 20+ years later I was working on a 2nd degree and getting ready for finals when I took a break from my studies and turned on ESPN and they were playing the wsop. AFter wathing for a few hours I was hooked and started to learn more and found options to play and the rest is history. I luve this game.

The first time I saw poker was when I was watching the main event of WSOP on ESPN. I thought it was an interesting game and started to play on play money sites. A couple of weeks later I was play the free sit'gos on Everest Poker.

I have never been a good girl and, 20 years ago, dabbled in slot machines. Some of them were five-card poker with the possibility of changing cards. These devices were rather old and it was still possible to fight with them. But when they began to be replaced with new ones - multifunctional ones, I had to look for a replacement for them in my desire to play. On the Internet I found one of the first poker rooms - Golden Poker, started playing freerolls and play money in Texas. It was 2007-08. Then in 2010-11 I signed up for PokerStars and played in the same format, until my boyfriend at that time, a poker player, advised me to start learning on the poker strategy site and play for money, for real.
