How did you start playing poker?

Hi guys! I have a question, what prompted you to play poker? Personally, I first saw poker on TV, but I could not understand the rules. Then I read the rules, and in Google itself started playing. What did you have?

I watched on TV wsop game we made interesting and I asked my dad to explain.
My dad explained and demonstrated how to play, and so I fell in love

When I was young my grandparents hosted poker night. I started playing against my siblings at that time. Fast forward and I've now been playing at least 20 years.

I first started playing cards when I was very young (not for cash, just for fun with family and friends)
I first started playing online poker when I was 18. My friend told me it was easy to sign up and I could win cash doing it. Been playing ever since.

I started when i was about 12/13 years old, saw my older brother playing it on what was called "noble poker" at the time. I just sat and watched everything he was playing and thats how i learned the basics. Started playing for fun at school on lunch breaks with friends with the limited knowledge i had. Then over the years passion for it grew and i educated myself by reading few books along with info i wouldve picked up from youtube and other websites who would have any poker related material. Still loving it up to this day

I started playing our local version of
Poker called "Pusoy" at the age of 7 yrs old with my mom's friends. But hold em, 5 card draw/stud and 7 stud at 8 yrs old but that was thru a gaming console back in the 80s called colecovision.

I was arriving at an aunt's house, and I saw my cousin playing with some friends and as I had nothing to do at that time, he invited me to sit at the table to learn how to play. I remember when I downloaded online poker to my PC for the first time. I was bored, and my brother was playing online on Paradise poker. I knew the rules, cause I played it couple of times with friends before. So I typed poker online to google and downloaded software from the first link, and it was pokerstars. I started to play with playmoney, then downloaded more pokersites like Unibet or partypoker. I played a lot of freerolls back then and I was able to make 100-200$ every month

Saw it on TV but at the time it midly interested me. Somehow got interested later on to try the game and play it live. But do not really remember how I learnt the game at first. Probably someone tought me the rules before I played live but enforced after looking up the rules and playing online later.

Many years ago I had a computer laser disk with poker. There was also a Hold'em and Omaha. I played with the computer and almost always won.

I started playing with my extended family when I was about 12. I lost and pouted, but my grandma would give me money on the side, to my dad's objection. Still some of my best memories are playing with my family on New Years Eves.
