I was bored at home once. I found a local poker site where you could play for free. That's how I started playing poker as a hobby. Then I discovered real money poker.

I got started in a pretty simple way a casual home game with friends. At first it was just about fun, small stakes, and learning the basics, but what hooked me wasn’t the money, it was the depth of the game. I realized pretty quickly that poker wasn’t just about the cards it was about decisions, psychology, and staying calm under pressure. After that, I became curious about strategy, started reading, reviewing hands, and trying to understand why certain plays worked. What began as a social game slowly turned into a mental challenge that kept pulling me back for more.

My grandfather was a bookmaker for 55 years haha we had to visit the mob in Vegas… 3 times a year from Canada… let’s just say I was born into it.

I used to be a real estate agent and would tour new listings every week, one house had a live wsop game with hole card cams running on TV and I thought that was the most interesting thing ever. This was in 2005, so the Moneymaker boom was in full swing and we also had Full Tilt play money games running in the office.

I was too busy and didn't pursue it further then, but got interested again around 2013 when I had returned to college and saw some classmates playing online, so I signed up on CardsChat to get freeroll passwords and have been here ever since.

I started playing poker when I was at college, when I came back from college I always played freerolls and some micros, I remember once spending the night playing a tournament and winning $450, it was my first significant prize, I was very happy.

I actually started playing out of curiosity. At first it was just for fun, but once I began learning more about the strategy and depth of the game, it became much more interesting and competitive for me.

First time I come with poker that when I very small , perhaps 11 or 12 year old , I find it on a Nokia “game and learn to find how to play, everything not good and I alway lose I quit because there many good game than it with beautiful graphics then now when I 35 I find something to play and come back with it 😂

I actually saw my little brother playing online poker one day back in like 2005 and at first I thought it looked so boring. The more I watched though it seemed very interesting, I ended up getting hooked and delving right into it.
