I don't think poker is going to play a negative role in relationships. It's good that you have a common interest, but you will study together, ask each other interesting tasks and solve them together. If you two also play successfully, I think this will be a good plus in the family budget.

It's certainly worked out well for me. My wife got me interested in poker before we got married. She pretty much taught me how to play the game, and introduced me to CardsChat. And last night she railed me on to the FT, after she busted out, at our annual MGM National Harbor local teams tournament (cashed out in 5th).

I definitely would! Imagine being with someone who understands the whole point of playing poker, no nagging and can actually help one another, perhaps in control and balance as well. Of course there should be a balance in life, responsibilities, and the relationship itself. I would definitely marry a women whos a poker player!

In my humble experience I believe that, even if you both play poker together and love each other, there is bound to be a quarrel someday, but if one of you does not play poker, be sure that you quarrel a lot, especially if you play every day and for a long time.
Poker every day + work = no time for a sweetheart.
