Hi friend.

The same thing happens to me as you, but hey, I try to be unpredictable sometimes, but yes, I make that mistake of playing hands that I shouldn't play because I have a lot of chips, the good thing is that I can go far and at least I get to charge.

I start the game with the only goal - to win. I know if I am not patient enough, I will play with junk, I will not be able to enjoy the game and I will not be able to win. So I just do not start the game if I feel I am not patient enough.

Play this way. At the beginning of the tournament, play as you want, if you see that the game has gone change tactics and play less marginal hands. In this case, everything will work out for you.

Hi folks,
I havent`t been playing poker for a while.I used to play on a regular basis but had to stop cause it became a gambling problem. So i do these freerolls cuase i love the game :)
But my patient isen`t what it was ,i take my self in playing bad hands when i have built up a nice stack.I often get quit far in tournaments but then my ego takes over and i start playing on hands not paying attention to other players and lose hands that never should have been played.
Just wanted to share this and see if other players have the same problem and if they have some advice or strategy to remind your self to be patient .

Best regards

Hello, if you are a gambler, then I think you shouldn't gamble for real money at all! Play freerolls and try to build your bankroll from scratch, it will be a challenge for you! Or hire an experienced coach who will point out your mistakes and help you develop patience and discipline! You yourself understand that you have problems with discipline, so work on it harder! I want to wish you only victories and good luck at the tables, play responsibly and watch your bankroll! Good luck!

You speak out of my soul, lol, i always start building chips and be the 80% of the tourney time in the first or second place, suddenly my ego goes wild and lose it all at once, sometimes also duo to bad luck since i lose pocket Aces to other small pairs... But since a few days i decided to at least achieve final table then i will play wild.

I believe everyone that plays poker suffers from impatience time to time. It can occur when you had a bad beat mostly, but sometimes even after a big win!
Well if you find yourself in this situation, it's better that you lay off some days and rest your mind and body, maybe some sports, your things you like, but not playing poker. Good luck!

Set objectives and every time that you decide to play a hand first decide how you will play it. For me it works! Good luck!:)

What is this game for? that's what I wonder before playing .... you have to find a balance in what you do about what options you have and where this game can take you with good and bad, you have to balance the gains and losses, the risks and satisfactions, expectations and reality .... you must be fair to yourself and objective!

You need discipline and to learn from your mistakes. Like if you do something bad that causes you to lose chips or your stack then dont do similar calls after that. You have to learn from mistakes and commit them less and less. Patience is like key to poker if you dont have it you cant expect to be a winner in the long run. I have a good photographic memory and a good memory period helps out with remembering your looses and mistakes and emotions that way you dont repeat. Also a note nook to write down notes and refresh your memory before a session help.

When you say you have a gambling problem, what you really mean is you have a losing problem. I've never heard of people complaining about winning.

I do the same thing sometimes, but I notice that it usually happens when I'm playing when I'm tired after a long day of work or stressed, so, I never play real money tournaments when I'm not 100% focused in the game.

I confess that I'm a very impatient player, when I'm winning I'm the one who bets the highest to see it won faster and that sometimes hurts me.

The greatest skill in poker is luck. As in life, to be born lucky. Rather that than rich.

I feel you on that bro, you have a big stack and run really deep after hours of tournament and then you play 2 silly hands and you're out. My advice is play solid poker and don't play ace rags! These are the hands that ruin my deep runs all the time. It could be tempting to push with A7 but after couple of steals I always run into big stack just waiting someone like me with pocket jacks.

Hello my friend. Patience varies from slow tournaments, to turbo or hyper. I recommend slow tournaments, because they are the most important, yes, the most important to strengthen and test your patience and stamina. From the beginning you have to say that this tournament will take more than four hours, or 5 or 6 ..., and may reach two days of play in some cases, and so you will find yourself relying only on strong cards, in addition, you will find time to apply and try out many skills. Make sure that when you get used to the slow tournament mode, you won't get thrown off easily and your patience will be excellent. Also tournaments or other hyper or turbo modes will be easier than before, I advise you to swim and run too.
Good luck:)

Boy, I sure wish I could control my impatience. I find it so hard to sit still and wait for the right cards/right situation. If anybody has the magic formula, please let me know.

Good afternoon. If you can´t control your emotions and make the same mistakes, real money tournaments are not for you.It seems that you like the game,so my advice would be just play freerolls mate.If you want to improve your game patience and a good bankroll management are needed.Good luck in everything.
