And i 100% agree with this. If i had the mental fortitude to withstand the huge variance, disproportionate beats (ie. the amount a key hand potentially costs you in relation to your buy in) you have to take, and the huge volume you have to get in to reach any sense of "long term", grinding MTTs would be very profitable i think.

I haven't played an MTT in absolutely ages and i never did play many at all, but just playing some of the 11$R tournaments on stars, the quality of play there is absolutely beyond atrocious. I was absolutely shocked at the amount of dead money in those tournaments. It seems to me that fish are alot more likely to blow $50 on a tournament to "have a shot" or "for some fun", than they are likely to blow alot in a cash game (tho ofc it happens in cash, it just seems like 80% of <$50 buy in MTT are like this). The amount of fish in MTTs is absolutely mind boggling, and, therefore, they should be very profitable. Not only that, it is so easy to learn basic push/fold crap, that imo it really is not difficult to get pretty good at tournaments pretty fast (course i am biased towards cash).

Also, again, maybe it is just me, but i find it pretty easy to play long hours if doing tournaments/sngs, but playing long hours in cash is absolutely draining (ie. i can't do it).

I'm exactly the opposite. I can sit forever at cash tables, but tournaments bore the hell out of me. Maybe its b/c i never multi table them heavily like i do when playing cash games.

1 tourney + 6 cash is the perfect balance for the first 3 hours of a tourney I reckon. After that start cutting down the cash tables as you start to focus more. I do this for anything <$100 buy-in, over that I still like 100% focus.

6 max players - what your standard play when you sqz from the sb/bb, with a mediocre hand against a TAG whose att to steal is 30+% and he flats. Flop is dry, no A/K? chk/fold, bet/fold?

I think we'll be ok for a few years yet

standard would be to c-bet for sure. a good part of what you're repping consists of big pairs, might as well keep the pressure on considering they can flat sort of wide in position

only if i get a 4bet flatted would my standard usually be to check and give up. true for both 6max and FR

Wow it feels like its been weeks since i had a winning day. (3 weeks ish )

The week break has done wonders. + winning the $3 CC donkament for another $80, and -$30 or so on other donkaments. Oh and a bouns clearance.

So I was playing my normal 25nl 6-max and there was some guy playing like 92/72. I lost a little more than a stack to him where I have 9Tc on a JcJs8c 9d Qd board and of course he flips over pocket 8s. Then I won a stack back where we were all in pre, me with 99 and him with K10o and luckily my 9s held. Then he lost a few pots to other players and left, so I searched for him again and he had moved to a 100NL FR table, so I followed him even though $100 is like 1/4 of my BR and then this hand happened.
