As far as I hear it, that's pretty standard. PLO players who have some notion of what they are doing are famous for fading a zillion % of equity.

oh i know it's a much swingier game than HE....

but i "should" (ie my expactation) would have had me hit a few of those draws i've had... that doesn't change. just crappy cards.

Gets kinda tilting the 5th time you have a 15 out draw, pot it twice, it doesn't come in and you lose to TPTK (equally as tilting because TPTK is calling down and still can't beat it)

Hiya, have a couple of questions from ppl playing on "different sites" (ipokers, chuck plays prima?, zach plays UB?) How active are the HU tables there from nl200-nl1k? How good are the players at nl200+? I've decided that i am not going to play higher than nl1k, and will focus on playing 2 sites, anything from nl400-nl1k HU...so i need one more site to play. My default is pokerstars, but i won't get any rakeback there and the games aren't exactly poor compared to other sites. FT is a no-go since i can't get rakeback there and i hate them so much now i wouldn't even take it if given. One other thing to consider is that ipoker/prima, etc have higher rake for HU i think, so the games would have to be fairly weak to justify going there instead of pokerstars since 0 rakeback @ 50c rake = 50% rakeback @ $1 rake in midstakes. Also just out of curiousity, since i haven't really been keeping up with much poker-related lately, what ended up happening with UIGEA?

Party poker isn't bad once you get 200nl and above. Lots of reload bonuses/no deposit bonuses/promotions. I've pretty much had a constant stream of bonuses since i've played there, and if you get 5k points a month you are "guaranteed" 30% rakeback, which is pretty good and in reality should be substantially more than that since you can run your "big bonus" from your points for half that that which i think releases at >40% rakeback at like nl400 (and mb nl200). It is good for HU at least.

vanq how do you deal with minraisers hu

min raising can become pretty good once the other guy is stuck a bit (so can limping button), coz he will start 3Bing light way too much trying to get deep, often won't make it regular size 3B, so you get to play in position for cheaper than a normal 3B vs a poor hand range against a guy who is often tilting somewhat. As to what you should do depends almost completely on metagame and how villain plays postflop.

Have to ask yourself why is he minraising? If villain is bad and is min raising with the intent of calling a 3B, then you can 3B the wide top of your range flat with the middle and fold rest. Just adjust accordingly. But if villain is good and is doing it to mess with you then again you have to adjust properly. So don't 3B like crazy if he is a good hand reader and you are somewhat deep coz you are just going to get in big pots with shit hands and you will be constantly getting owned coz your hands are bad. I don't treat min raising as that much different than a standard open anymore, except i call wider from the BB since it is cheaper obv.

Got to completely conquer tilt if you want to be a decent HU player tho...easily the biggest thing imo. Not even crazy monkey tilt, but removing that creeping sense of frustration that clouds your hand reading/decision making and allows you to see game flow for what it actaully is, not what your "omg this ****ing idiot can't have it again" tilt center is telling you to do.

Lots of school. Played a bit in Feb. but only played 6k hands in March. Also had alot of sick losing days over the last 2 months (maybe 4 >-$1500 days), which sort of sapped any desire to play, although i think i ended up +$5k up over 20k hands for the 2 months which is fine by me for that little volume. I'm not sure why, but i hardly ever have losing days; however, when i do holy **** it can get bad (and i am really good at tilt control now...not so good at stopping when stuck i guess).
