I think it's because not many women are in poker and women tend to chose more stable incomes, playing cards for a living is not one of them.

well that might have something to do with the fact that poker tournaments/casinos or online sites are populated with over 86% male customers/players. Obviously, statistically more men than women play poker. Therefore, it seems that only men won all the victories.

That's only a false perception because the # of men players in tournaments extremely outnumber the women. The cards play the same & if there were more women than men playing in a tournament the results would probably favor the women.

I found your question a little, but the answer to it is simple.
Simply the proportion of men x women playing is much higher for the male side. So it's obvious that with more male players the trend is for more made men. But there is a community of women growing a lot and the logo shows a champion, we have excellent poker players in the world that displaces many men who say they are good.

Not sure how you measure goodness. More men than women want to play poker. So who is trying how hard, and who is naturally good? Are we adding up total goodness, averaging all players of each gender, or averaging all serious players, or …?

I really don't think it's about being better or anything like that at all. It's a numbers thing, ya know? There's, apparently, more men playing poker than women. I mean it could be contributed to men being more competitive and poker just attracts more men (if you subscribe to that kind of science)? Not really sure what the reason for the participation gap is. Good question.

I don't think so, Maybe some people think we are, but the real point is,
There are way more men playing poker than women.
That gives you a false sense that men are better in poker than women.
That's why I've seen many guys get spanked on the table by them, ha ha ha

Uh actually it may be even the opposit. We can't easyly compare as the number of players isn't quite the same, and there are bias that make us think in a way. So in % it would still be irrelevant, as there are other parameters that are influencing on this.

the ratio of men to women in poker is probably somewhere around 90% to 10%, so the advantage of men at a distance will be obvious

Before you post such stupidity, do the research. Women have won 29 wsop bracelets; Vanessa Selbst and Kristen Bicknell have each won 3 bracelets. Victoria Coren Mitchell is the ONLY 2 time winner on the EPT; male or female. Ema Zajmovic won a WPT championship...being a misogynist, a first class horse's ass and an idiot all at the same time does not bode well for YOUR POKER PLAYING...my suggestion is that you stop playing poker...idiots like you only feed chips to the rest of us real poker player who understand people and the odds.

BTW: I am male, 68 years old, married to a non-poker playing wife and I have cashed in my only WSOP appearance.

That question is not easy to answer. The level I play on does have fewer women who play poker, but I cannot say they are inferior. Women are nicer to hang out with at the table. Better mannered and actually they play pretty solid.

I cannot answer the question in general, but on my level they are equal to men.

I do not believe this. I believe in the talent and development of each player regardless of gender. Perhaps what happens is that there are more male players than female players, and consequently there will be more good male players.
