I think being the chip leader is usually the one most likely to go off the rails. There are way too many things that can go wrong. Even at the final table, I have seen many chip leaders end up quickly being eliminated.

A pair of Jacks is undoubtedly a hand that will leave you feeling disappointed; although it is a relatively strong hand, it is common to suffer a bad beat 😂🤣😂🤣

A pair of jacks is certainly a dangerous choice. Then comes AK and a chip advantage. But the most important thing is how to play it all!

¿Cuál está más maldito?

A) Jacks de bolsillo

B) As-Rey

C) Ser el líder en fichas cuando quedan 20 jugadores.
For me, option “A” has often been the same abyss in which, with a certain degree of modesty, I confess that it is a mistake that I tend to reissue over and over again... And already standing in the way, once again looking in the mirror of my stubbornness, I say to myself: Now you have learned your lesson...?! 🥺🙂 And well... 🤣

C) Being the chip leader with 20 players remaining
Why?
You’ve survived for many hours.
You have a great chance of reaching the final table or even winning the tournament.
If you lose one or two big pots due to bad luck, you can go from being the favorite to being eliminated, or end up far below your expected outcome.
From an expected value (EV) perspective, losing a big advantage when only a few players remain is usually much more costly than losing a single strong hand early in the tournament.

Being a chip leader is not easy, I have seen leaders who don't make it to the end, perhaps due to emotional lack of control, or because there is no good luck.

So having the most chips with 20 players remaining is a curse? And apparently many responding here are in agreement with this?
WTF guys? Nobody forces you to play & lose. I'm taking the chip lead all day long.
WTF? You guys prefer being middle of the field where you can be ICM handcuffed?
THis is one of the more absurd things I've read on here this week.

I think one of the most important skills in poker is recognizing when your premium pocket pairs—JJ, QQ, KK, or even AA—are no longer the best hand and having the discipline to fold them. It's not easy, but it's necessary. Once you learn to do that, I think you’ll stop believing in so-called "cursed hands."

That's because you're interpreting the question in your own way and rage baiting yourself. Obviously I would prefer to be a chip leader. Thinking that it's more cursed than the others doesn't mean a preference for the others.

Bad read.
I don't see how anyone could consider it cursed when you'd think one would be (should be) thinking they are Blessed.
But I am pretty sure that most who consider it to be cursed don't know how to swing the big stack.

Totally!
If I could choose, give me the chip leader option everytime! Can you imagine if you could start every tournament in the first position out of 20? How great and profitable would that be.

Great to see the old Fulltilt software in action! I LOVED that site! I watched 1/2 the vid (seen it before) and watching the play sure has me missing those days. Back when a person could suck at poker and still win (ie. 'me' )
