It all depends on where I am playing, On-line I have my best result's in 9 player Knockout games, where you get a bounty for taking players out of the game, plus the top 3 get paid out of the remaining prize pool.
The buy-ins and prize money is small in comparison to MTT games but when I set my mind to it, I usually do well, but like any game of chance I have had a few days where I could not make any head-way and lose every game, but then there have been days where I made the money in every game I played.
My best result so far is Played 9 games, won 7 and placed in the other 2, I also have taken as many as 7 bounties in a single game, so profitable yes! Versus time? Perhaps not so much.
In a Live Casino or Pub game I prefer Cash Tables, I have done well in some Tournaments and cashed in a few but the Cash Tables is where I can usually make the most money, because I can spend several hours playing in the Tournament, and make a bit of money surviving the bubble, but can make 10, 20, or even 30 times more money playing against other players who have been eliminated from the Tournament.
Again this depend's on Variance and I have walked away from cash tables losing, but only to a point where I was willing to lose my original buy-in, nothing more, I always have enough left for a meal, a few drink's and a Taxi home.
