When playing poker if you are getting close to the money Never Underestimate the stupidity of your opponents. I’ve played so many tournaments & Jm getting close to the money & I think should I play this hand/spot which I would play earlier; one of my considerations is Nevef underestimate the bad play from opponents. Say you are 30 places to the money and don’t have many chips, you calculate if I fold every hand I might just make the money, but then out of nowhere AQ.. Wow should I play it? The blinds will take half my chips. I say THINK TWICE about folding. WHY?
When you are playing online you have two opponents, your players at the table & the computer program. Remember every thing in this world is about MAKING MONEY. Slot machines are programmed to give out eso much money. Likewise poker programs are programmed to knock you out of the tournament so you will reload giving websites their MONEY. Don’t believe me. Do you think pro wrestling is completely real? Don’t be a mark..They’re after you’re money. That’s all I’ll say for now on this subject for now.

The ideal goal in poker tournament

The ideal Gameplan is to accumulate as many chips early. That way the computer program will deal you better cards. When you’re opponent has A10 You’ll have AK. When your opppnent has JQ Clubs & you have 7-4 off suit .Your opponent will hit his J on river while you have set of 4’s on the turn. The Poker program favors the Big Stack. Don’t believe me.. Watch.. Not everytime, but much more than random probability. Somebody’s going to win, but remember they’d prefer if you lose.

Well put by you Jay, “never underestimate the stupidity of your opponents”, practicing this concept avoids losing a lot of money on reckless plays. Better to stop being "big eye" and be a little more humble before underestimating the stupidity of your opponents.

I got no real beef with what Jay said. On the first post. Basic whining from someone on a bad spell but no. Must be a fixed game.

But the real laughs come from the second post. Not sure if this guy is for real, or just another guy who thinks he’s clever with the satire.

A good laugh. Thanks, Jay! You made my day!!

Now I understand why having AA and my opponent accepts my all-in with 89, it comes out on the flop 888

Fringe view but I share it! I see rivers coming up with so many theatrics when it's close to the money :)

i don't know, out of the thousands of players on the site buying into mtts, there's a chance the program is really targeting jay r's buy-in. i mean, how else is the site going to cover out all those gtd payouts?

90% of the tournaments I take part in are freerolls. My bankroll is growing and the game gives me pleasure. I have absolutely nothing to worry about and I feel great. :)

Tournament poker is lots of hands and lot of winners and losers. So you have limit your losses and maximize your wins to make the money.

with any hand, you can both double and fly out of the tournament, bad beats happen both at the beginning of the tournament and on the bubble. Just take your time to put all your chips in the pot.

The tournament has to end someday and that is due to our actions during the game, who makes you play allin to each pair you catch ?!

I don't think it's a wise decision to always fold AQ !!! It all depends on how important this tournament is for you and what goals you pursue while playing it !!! And the fact that the poker programs are programmed to knock you out of the tournament is just your guess and can’t be a proven fact !!!

Excelente

if you can be right you have to make decisions at those times whether to wait to enter prizes or if you have a good hand to play to double down !! It depends a lot on the moment of the tournament, the decision that must be made, sometimes it is better to pass if it gives you the stak to hold than to play it with AQ because as you say you can find AA AK or simply a poorly played medium-low pair !!! regards!!

Jay's second post may be funny, but reflecting a little bit on what he says coincides a lot with various events during the poker game.

I agree with never underestimating your opponent. I'd save a lot more chips even in bad beat spots if I didn't do this. So, certainly something to consider. However the rest can be chalked up to variance not a rigged game. If it was rigged you'd have players for the site in every game and winning every game and then no one would play and then they would stop making money. Hence not profitable. The amount made from tournament fee's alone can support the site, no need for additional shady business, bigger tournaments mean bigger tournament fee's hence why large tournaments are held and heavily promotion in various ways. There are too many legit ways to make money for them to risk their business "rigging it" as the same winners like myself will come back to lose it all again anyway and again more tournaments fee's being paid. So I doubt it is rigged. That there is a method / sequence to the program's card distribution is mathematically "possible" but I doubt anyone of us has the brain/computing power to figure it out in it's entirety let alone profit from it. And even if we did, you can never account for the human variant of a random call/shove on a whim with nothing that "will" make something. Hence chalk it up to variance, move on with life and enjoy playing poker!

Especially if when many times they are lucky in the short term and they eliminate us from tournaments or we are left with large pots against bad beats ahah. They are the most dangerous

For the program to work like this, but it's stupid, having a large stack allows you to put pressure on your opponent and as an opportunity not to leave the tournament in any situation, but in no case, if you have a larger stack, then you have a better hand.

There are many aspects to a good game, not just a lot of chips.

Your thoughts are similar to the vast majority of players who have experience in poker games. online poker is created only for the profit of the owners of poker sites.

Agreed.

OP seems to be projecting here in this post..... an intelligent person just does not come up with this stuff.

JayR you are the man with the plan. Just not sure what that is. After reading you're post, might want to head out for some live poker. You can use the same strategy without that pesky program.

stupid people who play with the stupidest cards is no evidence that there is some plan that one or the other prefer and let win. it just shows that there are stupid people who are sometimes lucky. But when you think about it, what is actually stupid? Maybe these people are not stupid but so convinced of their luck that they simply risk everything on cards that actually make no sense. not everyone plays to win, there are also people who just play for fun and they don't care whether they win or lose and most of the time when you play like that you play much more loosely and secondly you risk more and that can also temporarily lead to success in the long run it will be nothing but such people just don't care. You may call some people stupid but this usually happens when you have lost to garbage with the best hand, but if you look at it closely, this person was not so stupid because he won the hand

you have a great point here...

I see your point...

What to do when you're 30 out from the "money"

Should you take that AQ hand and go all in and lose???? or

Wait for that AA KK hand which is a factor of the "computer random generator" application.

Now if I were you and trying to figure out which way to go....I'd say it's a 50/50 chance you'll win

EITHER WAY.

What your asking cannot be measured or determined. So....

Have fun until the end of the game....don't let the timer press you....be smart and play smart against that "head to head" opponent.

That's where the real money is won and lost.

Thank you for listening!!!

..bluff..

:)
